That is their current order strictly in terms of accomplishments.

Great QBs make coaches look good when they have them.

Depends on what you're asking in what context. Ask me who the best coach in LSU history is and in one sense you could say Miles because he won a title and made another but in another sense, Saban achieved exponentially more but not at LSU. It all depends on what you mean by the question.

Most success time at LSU? Miles.

Best season at LSU? Orgeron

Most consistent coach over the entirety of a career? Brian Kelly.

Wut? Les was second only to Nick Saban in the golden era of the SEC and had sustained success for a decade. Won a championship and should have had another.

Les is easily #1
BK is #2
Swamp Monster is a distant #3 .. terrible coach that lucked out having Aranda, E/Brady and Burrow

You got a hat-wearing grass-eating riverboat gambler and a guy who spoke cajun caveman that won championships... then you have BK.

Miles by a mile.

Les Miles was far from perfect but his record of accomplishment and success over a long period speaks for itself.

It's not easy to win. It's quite easy to run a program in the ground which is what Orgeron did after brief success.

Miles
Kelly
Orgeron

9-4 (No Burrow, Chase, or Brady)
10-3 (Mid Burrow)
15-0 (Elite Burrow)

Hardly a fluke.

Definition of a fluke. How you are STILL on your knees for this fricking bum in 2025 is amazing

ETA : Show me his record without Aranda or Burrow then tell me he's anything other than fricking terrible.

I dinged Les' ranking because of his record outside of LSU. His record away from LSU is 31-39. Brian Kelly won at Grand Valley, Cincinnati, Notre Dame & despite how things are going right now has a 34-13 record at LSU.

It just came down to how much credit did I give Miles for winning the big game and making another but a crummy record outside of LSU vs Kelly making the big game and losing but sustaining higher win percentages across his whole career.

That wild. He was at Okie State that had a big brother in OU, and then went to fricking Kansas

And Les still achieved more.

Your entitled to your opinion. Les actually did everything we wish Kelly would do here.

if Ed O would have kept it in his pants and just kept competent coordinators on staff he would have averaged 10 wins a year here and we would be in the 12 team playoff damn near every year.
That buffoon must still be kicking himself. Especially after the judge took half his buyout and gave it to his ex wife.

I mean, Brian Kelly went like 30 something and 6 at Cincinnati which is historically a .500 program.

Did you read my OP? I said Les was the highest achieving coach while at LSU.

Again, I didn't say that Kelly has achieved more at LSU than Miles. Just that Kelly has sustained a higher level of success at more places over a longer period of time than Miles did.

It's so funny that yall think he was capable of being anything other than the meathead he is. He coasted off Les's hires and the second he had to make any of his own, he reverted right back to being the worst coach in Ole Miss history.

He's a great position coach and recruiter, but he simply cannot run a program.

Agree with the order you have. O could have been on top had he remained committed to building the program and winning. He decided to go a different direction with his life and essentially quit.
