Would be epic if that happened.

WIC (7M enrollees) and SNAP (42M enrollees) are the big names coming up at the end of the month. WIC was already granted a temporary reprieve thanks for $300M of tariff money moved to the program by the WH.
TANF (2M enrollees) is also going to have problems.
About 10% of Head/Early Start programs will not get their funding.
Section 8 (5M enrollees) will also be not getting funded, but I believe there will be a moratorium on evictions during the process (going to suck being a slumlord if the closure lasts into December or longer).
The government is either going to crash the USD from debt or the fight against inflation is going to lead us into a deep Recession, possible Depression (due to consumers carrying so much debt to the point where GDP growth is completely dependent on continued debt growth). Either option is going to mean those programs come to a screeching halt as the government will literally not be able to fund them (nor anything else).
If we get 2-3 weeks of those listed programs being cut (except for Head/Early Start because it's such a small amount of their programs), it could give us a good glimpse of what we could see in the future if the federal government doesn't get its fiscal house in order.

Depends on the state, Pennsylvania has announced no food stamps in November.
quote:
In a post on the state's official website, the Department of Human Services notes that as of Oct. 16, SNAP benefits will not be paid until the federal government shutdown ends and funds are released to the state.
SNAP recipients will be properly notified when payments can resume and when future payments can be expected.

It's ridiculous to see the people in their 40s, 50s and 60s who are dealing with things like mobility issues or other problems -- and they manage to show up at work daily.
Meanwhile, we have these fat fricks in their 20s who get every benefit possible due to having a few kids and/or being classified as a student because they take 3 hours of classes at Raytown JC.

I voted for this

I saw on FB that Missouri can’t issue SNAP benefits for November at the moment, so it’s happening.

And every recipient needs to know the Dims shut it down but the Trump administration kept their funds flowing

Sect 8 is just welfare for slum lords, make life as painful as possible for them

I would be very cautious about using food as a political weapon. Just saying. Be careful. Think well.

These leaches should get jobs instead of welfare.

Can you imagine the fights and riots and screams of "deadass" throughout the streets?

Ayn Rand had it pegged:
Producers
Moochers
Looters

Would be epic if that happened.
There is about 20-30% (disabled and elderly) of folks that participate in the program that I support helping with my tax dollars. An example would be a couple I know that lost their child in his first year of life and spent the past 20 years fostering disabled children and adopting two of them. Not so epic for them.

GOD forbid a person gets a job and pays for food with their own money like the rest of us.
And therein lies the problem with certain people who have been programmed for generations to believe they're perpetual victims and must rely upon the government to give them "free" shite. You cut off just a little tiny bit of the welfare spigot and they say, "Alright, you're not giving it to me? OK, frick it, ima steal it because it's not even a crime any more."
Thanks, Democrats!
