What’s the benefit of firing mid season?

It seems like we wouldn’t want to fire CBK until we have our next coach lined up. What’s the benefit of firing before the seasons over, like Florida and penn state? Unless there’s an interim head coach that we want to test out.

You get first dibs on the available candidates. Pretty obvious really. What’s the benefit of waiting?

Helps with recruiting, I’d imagine. And early agent talks.

Be first in line for the three or four you want. Bigger question is why retain them knowing they are dead men walking

Morale and fan support

Other than that, all the phone calls can happen just the same.

If the team has quit, gives opportunity to rally. Arkansas looks revitalized with Petrino.

LSU did the same with O post Miles.

In a vacuum where the money isn’t an issue, it’d be a PR move. BK has completely lost the fan base and has the program moving in the wrong direction. A midseason termination would signal that the administration sees that and cares about turning things around as much as we do

They won’t fire him, but if they did that’d be the reason why.

I would think it'd be the opposite but maybe thats a hot take. Hows a coach recruit a guy if neither of them are convinced they'll even be together? Goes for position coaches under a fired HC as well.

You can start your search. Start purging the program.

No you don’t. Nothing stopping ADs from talking to agents while their current HC is still employed.

The next coach might not want to come to a page where you get fired mid season while you’re 5-2 and your worst season was 9-4

Y’all emotionally immature just want your pound of flesh. Might feel good for a second, but it would be an atrocious business decision, but you’re too stupid and emotional to understand that.

Judging on our results both times......none really. When Les was fired, we probably had the same record had he stayed......and basically announcing that O was done mid season in 2021 yielded us very little and.....Wow!!!!!! We got Brian Kelly.....oh, the coup!!!!!

Sends a message that LSU is serious about winning and will do what ever it takes to get there…to include firing a HOF Coach that’s coasting to retirement with 50 Million dollar buy out. It’s a baller move that will put LSU in the headlines! Especially if Fat Woodard gets shown the door with BK!

coaches are narcissistic

No decent coach can watch LSU and think. “Yeah, I couldn’t do better”

5-2 is hollow, and the product of no competition. Everyone knows it

Gives the fans something to be happy about and shows them you mean business.
