All this means to me is he will sign a team friendly deal or be traded.

Hopefully our leverage play

This is the smart decision in my opinion. Need to surround young quarterbacks with weapons and trading away your best one is not a way to set a young QB up for success. I would extend Olave on a reasonable deal and draft the best receiver in the draft (probably Jordyn Tyson) with our first pick next year. Tyson as your WR1, Olave as your WR2, and Kendre in the backfield could give us a chance at having a very good offense next year if Rattler continues to develop

I don't get the hate myself. He's on pace for the following this season...
111 rec 969 yds
The only problem I see right now with him is drops, but I don't think that will continue. His yds/rec are way down from career avgs. This is most likely on Moore or rattler. He's avg'd over 12 yds/rec in the previous 3 seasons and that's down to 8.8. Gotta get the ball downfield more

Olave is a lightning rod for emotional takes but you are right. Not much we can bank on right now with this roster but Olave as WR2 would be one. If you don’t bring him back it’s a big hole to fill especially if Shaheed leaves in FA

I don’t believe in paying big contracts for WR’s. If he signs a team friendly deal, I’m all for keeping him. However, if he wants a premium contract, he can get it elsewhere.

Welp....another terrible move by Loomis if this comes to fruition. Olave is not the same as he was in years 1 & 2. The current version of him that makes "business decisions" is what we'll get.

Offers for him must be bad. No reason to extend him now. Hes under contract next year. Unless it’s a below market deal, there’s no reason with his concussion issues.

trade him to Cincy for trey. done. lol

So dumb
Mickey doesn’t want him to walk so he doesn’t look like the fricking shitbird moron we all already know he is.
This is a move you make if you’re winning and competing but we’re not because of the aforementioned idiot.

Let’s see the money gent
$15-20 mil per would be palatable. Cap will only go up and his % of the cap will shrink. His agent has no ground to really negotiate a robust extension on; he’s fresh off the concussions and diminished production. Maybe one contract will go right for us. Over $20 mil per and we ride to Airline Dr with the pitchforks

In reality they are likely talking 23-29

If that's his number, he will most likely be traded

Olave is under contract through next season and Shaheed has a void year and is a FA next season. Why would the focus be on extending Olave now?
