Sad to see him having his health issues and calling it a career but his legacy is secure as one of the greatest of all-time in country music.

You could make an argument that he's the last traditional country singer-songwriter.

Proud to call him a fellow Georgia boy.

Remember When is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. And Alan wrote it all by himself.

“Remember when, I was young and so were you? And time stood still, and love was all we knew. You were the first, so was I. We made love and then you cried…. Remember when”

That line stands out as someone who could capture human experience.
