Putting it into perspective.

My parents drove back from New Mexico to Gulf Breeze last week and my dad said that driving through DFW was absolute hell and it tested his resolve.

Tell him to just pay for the toll roads.

Really makes you think.

what is DFW's population? I'm too busy at work to look it up. Thanks.

NYC would have the same map pretty much too.

Another good reason to avoid that place.

you could overlay the state of Connecticut on top of the DFW metroplex and it wouldn’t cover it, pretty spread out

Yeah, we live in N LA and drive several times a year to CO/UT. We're old and don't like the stress driving thru DFW so the extra 20min it takes us to skirt north is more than worth it. Kinda pretty scenery anyway thru the ranch land there

The Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area (Metroplex) had about 8,100,037 people as of a 2023 estimate.

I have to drive across the entire Metroplex daily. It takes 2.5hrs...spending $300 a month on toll roads. It's getting untenable. At some point you just flat out won't be able to do it. I don't know what the solution is, but something has to happen.

You can draw the same map with NYC, LA and Chicago.
25% of the US population lives in 10 Metros: NYC, LA, Chicago, DFW, Houston, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, DMV and Phoenix.

There are around double the people in the DFW metroplex as in the entire state of Louisiana.

Drove from Colorado to Baton Rouge last week and this was the worst stretch I had all trip. Traffic the entire way. What a shite hole of an area, I dont understand why so many people talk highly of this place.

Id never live in the DFW metro. Too big
