RAM HEMI Repair Shop

I'm sorry if this is not the right forum to post this in so im posing here after searching for postings for help landed me here. By the way it would be great if this great site had an "Automotive" section.
So I'm posting to ask if anyone here has recommendations for a shop that they can recommend to repair a Hemi 5.7 engine with a lifter/cam issue. My beloved 2013 Ram that has meticulously maintained left me stranded one day as I was returning to the hospital to be with my wife who was recovering from cancer surgery after a quick shower. Truck is beautiful and looks tough with a level kit and larger tires. Always ran perfect but with 160k miles she finally gave up I guess. Now I am a former CDJR tech so I can do a lot but certain things I can't due to HOA restrictions. Best I can tell after my checking things out one of the lifters seized and flat spotted the cam. Checked everything I can without taking apart the engine to check the cam and lifters because HOA says I can't have a disassembled vehicle in my driveway and it's too big to close my garage when I'm working on it.
So I decided to buy a new vehicle that day, my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon which by the way amazing but I digress. I need to fix my truck to either sell it or just keep it. Problem is I don't trust just anyone to repair it. It's a complex repair. I'm looking for a competent repair shop that has experience replacing cam and lifters on a Hemi. If my garage was big enough if do it myself but it isn't unless I tell my wife she's got to keep her car outside till the truck is fixed which is asking for a marital disaster. So I'm hoping I can fix it or sell it as is. I won't let it go for less than 5k because other than it runs like crap because of the cam and lifters it's a gorgeous truck with a ton of new stuff and every option available and some that have been added.
Anyhow if you actually read the whole thing and can help, send some recommendations my way. Geaux Tigers!

If its the cam lifter i would just get a head job while at it. New gaskets and deck the head. Then put in a more aggressive cam. Really opens the hemi up.

FYI I had a similar issue in my 2019 Ram. Thankfully my warranty replaced the entire Engine instead of opening it up and repairing parts of it.
If your lifter is shedding off metal shavings, there is no telling where those are In the system. There is no way to guarantee that work is clean and get every little one. You might be better off just replacing the engine vs opening it up and piece meal fixing it

Just repair it yourself. Close the hood each time you finish working on it for the day. The repair is not complex -just taking parts off and putting them back on. The critical and possibly complex part is the diagnosis. Get that wrong and you've lost quite a bit of time and done a lot of useless work.

All that text and you don’t tell us where on the planet you’re located or how far you’ll travel

By the time the problem presents itself...it's a known issue where the lifters eat the cam...the metal flakes have traveled throughout the engine. It's a complete tear down and rebuild because you can't get it all out otherwise.

Needs a new engine.

Let me save you some time and effort. You won't like the information though.
My 2014 ram did the same thing at 174,000...meticulously maintained and babied it as far as driving went. Started hearing a rattle on acceleration and was throwing misfire codes and a few others. Changed the plugs...all 16...with very temporary improvement. Pulled the filter for an oil change and found metal shavings in the oil. The lifters were eating the camshaft...a known issue with the Hemi. Still cranked and ran fine but for the rattle...straight up the lifters making noise...but with all that metal floating around the system it's just a matter of time.
Started to check some places out. An engine swap is going to cost about $11k...price quote from 2 different shops...and that's a remanufactured engine. Home job is minimum $6k IF you have the tools and capability to remove the entire front end to get the room to work on it. Oh yeah, you will be opening the AC system to get the job done so factor that in.
Did the math on an engine replacement then thought about the transmission with 174k on it and just traded it in...managed to get the lower end of kbb trade in price. It sucked as I did like that truck and the damn thing was paid off.
Hope that long write up helps.

I would totally love to do that because the sound of a cammed hot HEMI is music to my ears but I have the Jeep now so the truck is taking up too much driveway real estate. I just want to fix it without sinking too much money into it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely look into it!

Yep very true. If i was going to keep it, that's the route I'd going for sure. With a shiny new Jeep though the truck needs to find a new home.

Yes, I'm fully capable of doing the work. I spent my younger years as a tech and service writer for two different Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealerships in west Texas. I just don't have the time or patience for it.

Sorry, yes your right. I forget people on this board are Tiger fans and alumni from all over. Im in Baton Rouge. Distance to travel can't be too far because I'd have to tow it to a shop. It will start but is running so rough it dies at every stop.
