Don’t let the 45 wins fool you that’s mostly cupcakes which he’s loaded up on this season also. LSU is predicted to be bottom dwellers again by the media ( 15 th) This roster isn’t any better than last year ( maybe worse ) Why didn’t Woodard move on from him after last season?

Also, admitting mistakes is more difficult than making mistakes.

Wait a tick. I thought there was this huge NIL commitment and spend that somehow just kicked in this season? The publications must have it all wrong. Better give him another 8 seasons to really implement his vision.

Ego
Selling out for football in 2025
Admitting that a huge hiring mistake was made
And most importantly…you know who was still in the state

This was addressed ad nauseum during and after last season. Same with football.
Also it's "Woodward".

well LSU simply doesn't make basketball a priority.

McMahon is not a good coach

Then what fun would you have? You would have far less to bitch about

I wonder what the excuse will be this season?

on another note Beth Torina made the all century team for D1 softball
In part one of our two-part All-Quarter Century Team finale, here are the top 25 head coaches from the last 25 years:
Beth Torina
Arriving at LSU in 2012, Torina took the Tigers to the Women’s College World Series in her first year at the helm. She totaled four WCWS appearances in her first six years in Baton Rouge and is closing in on 600 wins during her time in purple and gold.

This will be his last year to put up or shut up! I truly believe if we stink it up again he will be gone!

“NIL takes more than one year to take effect”
Book it

I do remember after the roster had been formed a couple posters using the “well now he’ll know how to spend the money for next time” so your guess is probably spot on.

Because LSU athletics are already in deficits and they don't need to pile on to their deficit towards a program that has little fanfare or booster support.

That’s definitely not why. Hoops still turns a profit. Only hoops and football do no matter how bad they are.

LSU has never really taken it seriously. I think it's mostly due to lack of booster support to be honest. I think the fans would love it and it would blow up. It's dumb LSU doesn't put more effort behind basketball. Football and basketball should be eating through the money to be good.

I don’t disagree especially with the current admin but it once was valued here. It’s a head scratcher, we can speculate why it’s been abandoned but we can’t know for sure.

Not outside the realm of possibility that the replacement Woody has targeted wouldn't be available until this year, due to the other school's buyout or some other contractual/financial reason.
Also, it looks bad if you fire a coach less than 4 years in. It makes it really hard to convince the next guy that you have his back when you didn't have the last guy's back.

Do you see the record in the subject line? If you’re a confident coach, you’ll see three seasons as plenty of time to turn it around in today’s day and age.
The fact that we have to suffer through another year of McMahon’s listless program is a slap in the face to the fans.
