“It was wrong if the Republicans did these things, and I led that charge back in March, saying it’s wrong to shut us down, and we kept it open. I said in March that when September comes, I’m going to be the one guy that says it’s wrong to do this. The losers are these poor Americans here that are going to get caught in the middle of this thing.”

John Fetterman is an interesting case study in public perception and modern politics.
When he was running for Senate as a stroke victim Republicans called him brain damaged, incompetent, and laughed at Democrats for keeping him on the ballot. Democrats defended him at all costs, trying to refute everything Republicans said.
Ever since John has started leaning across the aisle Democrats have begun questioning his mental acuity publicly, doubting that he is fit for the job. Meanwhile, Republicans are embracing him as a sensible, level-headed, possible ally.
Like I said, interesting.
