(Likely won’t happen, but miracles happen)
What candidate intrigues you most?

Definitely gets a call:
1. Lane Kiffin (has he been waiting for this job?)
2. Brent Key (personal favorite)
3. Curt Cignetti
4. Jon Sumrall

Retread hires:
1. James Franklin

Pulling a Joe Alleva:
1. Gus Malzahn (personally think the fan base will be divided, but will tentatively accept)

Edit: I personally have no issue with Kelly, just seems like his tenure will compare to James Franklin/Penn State

Urban is older now that BK was when he was hired.

He also sucked majorly at Jacksonville.

Pass.

Kelly's not leaving for Penn State. This is one of those rumors that agents start to try and get their clients an extension of raise. Hopefully Woodward isn't dumb enough to bite on it.

The NIL days have destroyed Saban coaching style. Even if Saban berate them they got their little bag already. Some of it is life changing money.

Definitely gets a call:
1. Lane Kiffin (has he been waiting for this job?) - He wont be murdered by Ole Miss fans for going 9-3 so no he is not leaving there. So many people have gotten him wrong. Also, he has proven nothing even with a loaded roster like yall are getting on Kelly for before the season is even over with.
2. Brent Key (personal favorite) - a guy already at his Alma Mater and an OL coach whose only been seen as a great recruiter at Alabama (aka, no recruiting success needed prior). Haynes King being a RB at QB, and the ACC being bad is propping up his G Tech teams. People would go insane in a bad way if he's the pick.
3. Curt Cignetti - this is every program's dream higher at the most recent moment. One, he is already getting paid 9 mill, and will get paid more. Two, he can have a losing season next year easily (currently living completely off two heavy transfer portal classes and perfect picks at QB in the portal). Three, Big 10 is paying big money and Indiana will likely find the money to keep him to continue grabbing quality talent
4. Jon Sumrall - Louisiana coonasses would probably love him, but they loved Billy Napier too. I'm very hesitant on lower tier coaches who haven't cut their chops in a bigger league.
Jon Gruden being mentioned by people is also another typical dumbass pick by college football fans and media.

I just don't buy Cignetti like most others yet. I need a year where he doesn't have a highly experienced transfer QB. Also, i think Oregon is overrated despite what others believe. They have immense talent, but they've beat done on some horrible arse teams and struggled vs a Penn St team that looks a mess (and who didn't look good at all before the started losing). He has a trash schedule and should finish undefeated now after beating Illinois and Oregon. However guys like Ohio St and better teams not in the Big Ten will be his downfall.

There are currently no high caliber coaches that are sick of their job and/or could do infinitely better than what Kelly is doing by switching to LSU. LSU would more than likely have to gamble on a HC with potential.

Every coach in America in any league suffers when they miss on a QB, look at Bellichick since Brady. Has he forgotten how to coach? Has he gotten worse? People that have never played football don’t realize what a fine line there is to winning and losing

I don’t buy Cignetti yet either and he’s getting old.

But your reason is not relevant in the NIL portal era. He can literally get an experienced transfer QB every year.

Kelly hasn’t earned the money he’s making now, and Woody hasn’t stopped hearing about it. No way Kelly plays this situation for an extension/raise. What’s he going to do, retire? He has zero leverage here.
