Talked to a neutral visiting fan from Chicago last night. He said he’s been to games at Penn State, the Swamp, Fla State and many others. His words were “ I’ve never experienced anything like this, this place is wild and unlike anything i’ve ever seen”.

I said “and we don’t even hate S Carolina”. He plans to return to another game soon.

PS. I’m an OG who hates the piped in music too..

Was this before or after half the crowd went home in the 2H?

Everybody but Drunks and Druggies HATE IT, but nobody complains to the AD, so they keep puking it out every game.

I’m not trying to be negative but it’s nothing like it used to be. I’m not a casual either. Been to every home game for the last 26 years… LSUs atmosphere is a shell of itself. It’s embarrassing

The music is exhausting. I sit in my seat enduring that crap between every fricken play.

There are a lot of things that go along with the game beforehand outside the stadium I’m assuming he probably referring to as well.

We have some of the best pageantry in all of college football.

And a freakin live Badass Bengal Tiger feet from the stadium.

People forget about all that good stuff and complain about the seats being empty at certain times in a game.
We are not the only ones who go through this.

There will always be only one LSU and that will never go away.

We literally have it the best in many ways.

Be a squeaky wheel. Complain incessantly to Woody.

I agree the music between every play is stupid and ruins the atmosphere of tiger stadium… it’s loud and blaring horrible rap music….
GET RID OF THE STUPID DJ MUSIC AND LET THE BAND PLAY MORE

That is positive, but we all know it’s a shell of what it used to be.

I had 2 buddies from Chicago (Ohio state guys) call an audible and take an uber up from Nola for the game! They were blown away! Many of you take it for granted! I went to Ohio state Notre dame at the shoe and they serve pretzels at the tailgate! There is nothing on earth better than a night game in Death Valley !

I'm on the younger end...but old enough to understand the relevance/reverence of having a traditional stadium that only has PA and bands playing. Those times have changed. I'm sure we're only a few seasons away from having an in-game personality to help assist in crowd participation. This is what attending sports have become. Piped in music, crowd engagement, rinse and repeat. I like it

The first time I have experienced where the band missed the first down "Geaux Tigers" cheer was this past weekend. There was a delay in the first down call but the band was late to it and I have to believe the confusion came in because of the piped in music.

I don't disagree, and those are the things that can't be replicated on a HDTV.

There's a lot to be said for the other things around the actual game that have nothing to do with how poor the actual in-game experience has become (compared to what us oldtimers grew up with).

That said, I'm old enough to remember when people with super-fancy tailgates would still ride out the game by their cauldron of jambalaya listening to the game on the AM radio and enjoying the beverage of their choice. Still, back then tickets were cheap enough that if they wanted to wander in and watch the game they could just stick a couple of fingers in the air and someone would sell them tickets.

In general I think turning the CFB games into a commodity combined with the money grabs by the Universities has pretty much ruined the in-game experience for most people. There are still a lot of die-hard Tiger fans that will stick it out in TS, but I think more often the majority of fans view the in-game experience as just that - an experience that they then move on from instead of going to watch the actual game.

It is what it is.

Are you talking about the stuff going on around a night game, or the game itself? What did they think of the actual in-stadium environment after half the stadium left to beat the traffic?

I wonder what people that are associated with the band fell about the pipe in music.

Certainly somebody here has to know somebody in the band or it’s associated with it that has some sort of perspective.
