Ole Miss is not a top 10 team and with the right QB LSU is a top 5 team.

Say we are 7-1 with a win over Vandy and an undefeated top 5 A&M going into the bye. We would probably be about #5 in the country. Annual loss to Bama would drop us back down to #10-12 but if we won out including a season ending win at Oklahoma that could put us in the #5-8 range at 10-2 (6-2) and not have to play in the SECCG.

This is why they will never join a conference because they place a few tough games a year and lose then play easy schedule rest of the way and make playoff.

The assignment is pretty straightforward for LSU. Win the home games, and win 2-3 vs Vandy, Bama and OU.

For that to happen LSU would have solved at least a couple of its problems.
You’d have reason to be optimistic for sure.
As it stands, we are #10 on paper but it’s just a matter of time before this team takes a major hit to its ranking.

It’s the same every year and I never understand why folks don’t get this. If LSU loses with either side of the football starving for an identity other will get punished and never rewarded. Just win and solve problems by eliminating the problem.
