Exactly. They are pushing buttons to turn on the response. I do believe once the NG is in place in these "sanctuary" cities, POTUS Trump will speak to the nation and let the civilians know law and order is about to be restored in their "sanctuary" cities.

I pray the Mayors and other leaders in support of these "sanctuary" policies would immediately be arrested and held without bail for breaking Federal laws!!

So a dozen or less cities are used as examples to show the rest of the USA what will occur when the US Constitution is not adhered to by government leaders.

Crowd blocking streets does the same thing. Anytime a covnoy leaves or arrives the Feds need an ambulance to clear the street. If they don't clear the street arrest them and charge them like they do to the prolifers at abortion clinics.

That's what they want to happen

During the "summer of love" riots in 2020, there were ongoing protests for several consecutive days in OKC near the Capitol building and governor's mansion. The attendees kept getting more and more bold even after the officers took a knee in solidarity (a mistake). But then permission was given for LEO to start firing those 12 gauge bean bags.

Two days later, pretty much everyone went home.

There are always multiple ways of handling every situation. Some are terrible, some are meh, and some are highly effective. Portland seems hellbent on only making the most terrible of decisions.
