They keep getting more granular with every update..

Pre-update results:

England & Northwestern Europe 59%
Germanic Europe 16% (Belgium sub-region)
Scotland 10% (Isle of Man sub-region)
Wales 5%
Ireland 4%
The Netherlands 4%
Iceland 2%

Looks like maybe their group of Central Scotland & Northern Ireland as opposed to just Scotland from before fixed the Scots-Irish issue; I can only assume it's so high being from the SE. I know the Slovenia is noise this update, but it came out of nowhere. Never had that 1% assigned to anything remotely close to that before.

The only social media I use is TD and Reddit. There have been threads on AncestryDNA here before, so frick off and don't respond if you don't like it.

My previous was like 80% England/Europe but now is 50% Southeastern England and Northwestern Europe with 32% Central Scotland and Northern Ireland. As well as some Wales, Donegal, and Muenster, Ireland in smaller percentages.

That makes a lot more sense given what cousins on both sides have traced back (one as far as 1500s, the other 1600s). Both have Scots and Irish as late as 1800s on both sides.

Do you have to use the website to view them like that? I have the app and it wants me to view each origin location individually

Got it

Updated results show 88% here(No other region above 4%):

quote:

You are connected through shared ancestors to people from southern Pays de la Loire south of Brittany’s southern border and from parts of Nouvelle Aquitaine north of the Gironde Estuary near Bordeaux in western France. At the heart of this region is the major port city of Nantes and the majestic Loire River Valley (particularly the Pays Nantais and Anjou-Saumur regions). This area is renowned for its wine production and exceptional concentration of historic châteaux and fortresses.

Most people in this Genetic Group report ancestors from the French cities of Sèvremoine, Montrevault-sur-Èvre, Cholet, Saint-Nazaire, Angers, Poitiers, Nantes, and Les Herbiers.

The most common maternal haplogroups in this Genetic Group are H3, I2 and H1e1a.

The most common paternal haplogroups in this Genetic Group are R-Z278, G-Z30771 and R-M167.
