I mean, wtf not at this point. Hopefully they've put it in these last 2 weeks. Save the fullbacks! Save our season BK! Sloan ain't gonna be able. Line up and run that mother all night. Give Nuss a second or 3 to play action and hit the deep ball.

What makes you think this will make running game better?

Giving them something they don't expect.....brilliant!

We should do more of this.

Anything different would probably make the running game better. It can't get much worse.

The 1 time we ran anything with a lead blocker this year and had by far the longest run of the season.

Hell Yah that's how we get Nuss to be more consistent!

Start taking snaps under center (which he's rarely done in his life), add steps to his drop, and make it more difficult to read the secondary!!! LFG

We run the spread. We're going to continue to run the spread.

I do appreciate how we've come full circle here.

I could swear around 8-9 years ago everyone here would have done anything to never see 21 personnel again.

We don’t have a fullback

The Gabe Reliford injury hurt in multiple ways. He was probably our 1st or 2nd best pass rusher from the 4 DEs we were rotating. HUGE downgrade between him and Carpenter, so we’re not rotating as much.

And since Pyburn is the best run stopper, he’ll probably get the most snaps of all of them. Which means we can’t afford to be using him at FB all that often. So do you think that Florida run worked simply because we just had a FB in on that play? Or because we had Jack Pyburn in at FB on that play? I lean the latter. Maybe there’s another dude, but if there is, I don’t know who.

at the end of a game where we caught Florida off guard

you don't need or shouldn't need to run I formation which is an outdated concept to establish a run game

We’ve only seen this once this year (which BK says this proves that we can run the ball, “go watch the last play of the game”) while we continue to struggle running the ball.

Are you serious Clark? What do you think we should do to "make running game better"?

I'm up for any and all suggestions at this point. Nothing else has worked.

We didn’t catch them off guard with a run between the tackles when we were trying to ice the game away.

Again, did that work so well because we had a fullback, or because we had Jack Pyburn at fullback? He’s a big, strong, mean motherfricker who has experience playing FB in the SEC. I don’t think we have anybody comparable to plug in there.

And I’m not sure how much we can afford to play him there without affecting his defense. Maybe for a drive. But if we drive right down the field rushing for 5/6 yards a pop with him in there, it’d be hard to not to go back to it. I’m not against using a FB and going I-formation, but who, realistically, do we have that can play FB and be a difference maker?

I am all for the I formation. IMO every team should have a I-form package. Every team in every game at some point has to be able to punch the other team in the mouth and run the ball.

Here is the catch, you team has to have a certain level of physicality and this LSU O-line just doesn't have it. The do not have a mean streak.

(1) they were caught off guard; and (2) the run was not between the tackles.

Actually made me smile. This is exactly the Les Miles offense that everyone ranted about. We went from radical physical approach to radical finesse approach. What we learned is that any offensive approach, if ineffective is truly hard to watch. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Apparently it's really hard to prepare a team to be able to do both.

You are correct sir... The offensive line is soft.. Matter of fact, the whole offense is off.

All it is now is a glorified 7 on 7

Totally agree. Need to use more formations across the board, whether run or pass, 1st or 3rd, etc.
