If these boys don't put on some weight they will get destroyed. Is that weight for TT current? Seems like going into his third season he'd be over 200 at least.

RR will see playing time when they run a 3-5 wr spread. Look for him to catch 40 passes his first year. He is the real deal.

Do you think Reuben Randle makes an instant impact? or is he still a couple years away?

Based on his High School Jr. year footage, I would expect him to make the kind of impact Clayton dis as a freshman. In other words, 3rd on the charts, 30-40 catches with several huge plays. Lafell will be a great teacher for RR and the other freshmand receivers. I truly believe TT will blossom this year and the best tight end in the SEC will be schooling some excellant young players as well. Should be exciting.

main thing about a wr playing early is that A) they have to learn how to and be willing to run block. B) i believe our playbook is pretty complicated. they have to learn option routes and get on the same page with the QB.

history shows us that these are not easy no matter how talented you are.

A lot of it has to do with the relationships with the QB as well. Once RS gets to be the starter, I'd think he would look to RR more because of any number of reasons. I think back to how much more RD saw the ball with Flynn starting than he did with any of the QBs this year.

i am excited to have three guys at receiver on the field at the same time that are all 6'3 or above. that is some serious size. we usually have a token 6' guy like doucet but this year its all tall guys. if randle, molton, or peterson, the are all tall. then of course tt, and lafell

Why is everyone so geeked about Molten all the sudden? This is the first Ive heard of him being someone to watch out for.....Now I remember Deangelo Peterson was said to be impressive for being so young, but where is this Molten stuff coming from?

Think Shepard mentioned him as being impressive, though I don't know what kind of football-related stuff they're doing right now.

To believe that there will be another reliable passer on the roster next year, other than JJ, is not realistic.

we are talking about eighteen yr olds. most of them have the talent to play, but very few are dilligent about school work, learning the playbook, and willing to do the little things (ie run blocking, working on timing with the qb's in the offseason, etc) before you become the "go-to guy". the higher the level, the more mental it becomes. relax, we have plenty to work with

Playing WR in college is not as easy as just "go get open." We've seen that with Toliver. Randle will be behind because he'll be a true freshman and won't go through spring, but he also won't have played WR for almost 2 years. He's not just gonna walk out in the Fall and be ready for SEC play. He'll probably make some plays toward the middle/end of the season, but I don't imagine he'll be any higher than 4th on the depth chart for a while. Russell Shepard might catch more balls next year than Randle.

Clayton wasn't listed over 190lbs. when he was a freshman and he did just fine.

RR probably will not start, but will be in the rotation. he will also make some big plays because he will be single covered due to the other guys on the field. give the kid some time.

Clayton benefited from very little WR depth his freshman year, and dude was just physically and mentally mature for a Freshman. Even if he wasn't huge, he was strong and unafraid. I hate that his NFL career has sucked so bad--dude was a badass at LSU.

Patrick Peterson recently came out and was quoted as saying that he couldn't cover Molton. That's why all the love for Molton.

Michael Clayton's freshman year was 2001 when Rohan Davey was lighting it up from the QB spot. I don't see Jordan Jefferson with that kind of production next year, so I can't see Ruben Randle having the same kind of production as Michael Clayton did, even if he is the #3 WR.

P.S. If I remember correctly, LSU signed some pretty highly touted WRs last year including Chris Tolliver, Tim Molten, and DeAngelo Peterson. Not to mention that we've got upperclassmen returning. People who are mentioning Julio Jones and Michael Clayton forget that those teams had little returning in terms of WRs. I can't see RR coming in and being that much better from the start as the guys that are already in the system. JMO.
