I’d argue college football was at its best while they were mostly down and is turning to shite now that they’re “back”.

Be careful what you wish for....when the Canes were rolling in the 80s they were insufferable....
And the new fly-by night fans back then acted like they invented football and copied the arrogance of the players, think thousands of Michael Irvins.
I've never seen the Media or neutrals actively pull for one team in a big game on live TV (except for Gary and Bama) but the Press box in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl is heard clapping and cheering whenever Penn State did something good against Miami.
Most everyone hated the U and if you liked the U, you were new to CFB and thought 2 Live Crew was the height of music.

It’s the vibe… they’re a little more Democrat than some of the other big fanbases…not everyone is down with the scene in the Grove for example… or Madison… or the academic vibe in Ann Arbor… or the hicks in Morgantown

They aren't back...they will lose to one of those middling acc teams guaranteed. Happens every year.
However they will be mainstay in the top 10 from now on due to their location. If you're a 19 -20 year old male getting money, you want to spend it in miami
