Do people on here not realize that most federal workers are just regular everyday people?

I mean for fricks sake. My friend works for an agricultural agency and he just got laid off. This guy wasn’t some “elitist” high-income individual who was living in DC. He had a family to take care of with 2 kids and they were paying off a mortgage. They were an average, working class family and Trump basically gave them the middle finger by laying him off.
Those “elitist” federal workers in DC you all complain about only make up a small percentage of the federal work force. Most of them are middle-income people who need their jobs to pay the bills and provide for families.
Trump doing mass layoffs the federal workforce has destroyed people’s lives. People who have been building their career in the feds for 20+ years are being let go. That doesn’t sound like a President who cares about the average working-class American.

Laid off or govt shutdown? Enhance your argument so we can tell you how you’re wrong

People here understand that completely.
People also understand the government is bloated.
People also understand the private sector is better than the government at literally everything.
Sorry for your friend, really…. But this gives him an opportunity to find or build his next venture.

Your party and especially its leaders... Schumer, Jeffries caused this.

Then why not support a clean CR?
Do you support the filibuster?
Is your buddy pissed off at Senate Dims and AOC?

It’s no different than private sector.
Why do you think a federal employee is immune from something like this?

Your friend isn’t entitled to some lazy arse government job that taxpayers have to pay for.
Posted on 10/3/25 at 5:52 pm to Lacreus
Can be sorry your friend is now hunting for a job. Can also he happy there is one less person to pay with tax payer funds.

You know what’s ironic? He’s a veteran and he voted for Trump
A huge percentage of the federal workforce is made up of veterans. And a lot of them vote red

What did he actually DO and why was it important enough to take money from other people for him to do it?

Trump is running government like a business. The corporate world we all work in can have layoffs in any down time or even in restructuring periods
Government workers have been immune to that.

Those jobs don't belong to the workers.
