Going to be in Germany and Austria over the holidays, including Munich on Christmas Day. Any recomendations on restaurants for a Christmas meal in Munich and for other days both there and in Vienna?
TIA

For Munich,The Augustiner-Keller beer garden was my favorite beer garden there. Would highly recommend it. It has a full indoor beer hall/restaurant and outdoor garden with food stalls oustide. Definitely one I'd check out while there.
Hofbrauhaus is another that is worth stopping by, even if just for a beer, but their food was good too.
Augustiner-Klosterwirt was very good when I went, traditional German dishes. It is not far from Marienplatz.
Tattenbach Wirsthaus was really good as well.
ETA: these are for your more traditional German/Bavarian meals. Munich has some really great worldly restaurants too, a couple 2 & 3 Michelin star spots, as well as a handful of 1* ones.

The cafes in Vienna are a favorite of mine.
Cafes Goldegg, Central, Demel, Hawelka, Landtmann, Mozart, Sacher Wien...
Goldegg is near the train if you needa faster meal. Still very nice. The rest are all famous and have been around forever.
