$40 a ticket for adults plus $30 per child for hard working tax paying families.

$10 a ticket for parasites.

What the frick does a trip to the zoo have to do with food?!?

It's time. The reset button needs to be pushed. This is so screwed up.

End rant...

Nothing? It's simply a tangible, easily provided as proof indicator of indigency. Tuesdays and Sundays are likely slow days, so they are offering a discount to people who, at least facially, would need it most.

I don't think food stamps should exist, but if it's going to exist, giving them a discount at a zoo isn't going to move the needle for me.

Yes, zoos are considered museums under the Museums for All program, which allows SNAP EBT cardholders and their families to receive free or reduced admission by presenting their card and a photo ID. Zoos offer discounts through this national initiative, which includes various types of cultural and scientific institutions, such as art museums, science centers, and historical sit

Go look up your local cable and internet providers. Welfare recipients receive discounts.

I don't have an issue with ebt discounts. I do think zoos have gotten too expensive. The audubon Zoo shouldn't be charging theme park prices too enter. It's $40 now i think the same as the San Diego zoo which is a destination zoo.

So between AARP, Veteran, National Park life time pass and if I could get EBT, I could live on the road for almost nothing.

$30 for a 3 year old to visit a zoo is fricked up. They should just make Tuesday’s and Sundays $10 for everyone.

get them in there so they can make money they would have not otherwise made when they use the EBT card to buy overpriced food.

Also, the program for museums, zoos, etc.
that someone else mentioned in this thread

That's why it's 40 dollars. Someone has to subsidize it.

Why should we expect people to improve their lot through work and advancement when Uncle Sugar is going to just give them everything?

This is how people stay on generational welfare. Because people dont give a shite.

When men ran the world, you bettered yourself so you could afford things for your family. Now they just wait for free stuff.

You have a really awful habit of only quoting the portions of posts you want to strawman. The part you intentionally left out was important. Here, I'll help:

No, your last part was CYA as you know damn well that getting rid of food stamps is impossible now.. You clearly said it didnt bother you.

You should care that people get perks for being on food stamps so they have an incentive to move beyond dependency. I dont hate them, I pity them and realize that politicians are exploiting them for power.

$140 for a family of 4 (not on food stamps) to go to the zoo. I’m sorry, but that’s retarded.

It is wild how much some of these places charge now. The aquarium in Gulfport is $33 for adults, thankfully kids under 3 are free though. It's nice and all but not $70 for two adults nice. The Audubon Zoo is actually cheaper and better bang for your buck
