Anyone deal with this before? Houses are close together, deck is in between houses. Neighbor's camera is intentionally put on our deck just to be a dick. I read conflicting laws regarding surveillance of one's "private area" by another party without their consent. Police don't seem to care...what would the OT do? Play some ghey pron for camera 24/7?

Continue to shoot it with a white paintball and blame it on the birds.

Do like I do. Just always assume cameras are on and commit to ALWAYS putting on a good show.

What's the history here?

Not sure if accurate, but I was once told that if the space is viewable from a pubic area, it's far game (i.e. living on a lake or park). However, they shouldn't have anything recording your private area if it's a fenced rear yard. I have cameras in the rear of my home that record. But they are angle so I get little to nothing of my neighbors.

Yes.

My nextdoor neighbor angled a camera at my back porch from their window. Pissed me off.

Later I found out they thought they were having hooligans messing around the side of their house and the camera was meant to surveil their gate.

I still didn't like it, but they were an older couple so I understood.

They also have one that looks like it's angled at my driveway...

Both cameras are on/in their property.. don't know how I'd react to one being on a shared deck. Put one up of your own?

Depends on your locale. In most cities and states, if the area of property is not generally viewable by the public, then it is considered a private space. (Think backyard with a privacy fence). In this case, you have a "reasonable expectation of privacy", and the surveillance is illegal (invasion of privacy, stalking, etc.). Again, the definition depends on where you live.
