Gross. College football is turning into shite.

At least private capital doesn’t have an established track record of screwing up longstanding and beloved institutions. What could possibly go wrong?

This is absolutely disgusting. Can we not have anything where greedy people are involved?

Somebody has to put their foot down and say "where is this all going?" But, everybody seems to scared to be left out of the next growth phase or cash grab.

They are the ones which destroyed college football. They were the ones who pushed transfer portal to quickly buy players and kill SEC top heavy team rosters.
Their entire thing has been to tear the sport back away from the south and we watched and let them do it.

The PIF about to LBO the SEC

There’s many reasons I’m not a private equity or venture capitalist billionaire, so I’m way beyond my depth.
However, I don’t see how anyone would get enough return on a $2Bn investment within a decade to risk that type of money.
They won’t own anything. Every team, stadium, arena, jersey, athlete, and uniform in the B1G will have to be covered in sponsorships for it to work.
I’m no fan of Michigan or Ohio State, but that’s way too tacky for them.

Wonder if it’s the Arabs

people in America are not going to realize until Saudi Arabia and the Gulf oil countries want in on college football...then begins buying up the MLB, NBA, NFL.
In this deal, Big 10 schools are getting "high nine-figure" upfront payments according to ESPN.
they already took Wrestlemania from a US city.

selling off Michigan’s precious public university assets would betray our responsibility to students
But players gotta get paid and students don't want you to suck!
Have "Universities" ever been a bigger joke than the last couple of years in ALL aspects of Academia?
CFB craziness just mirrors the crazies that run Universities.

I think it would have to be longer than 10 years.
That timeframe is in regards to the extension of the grant of rights to 2046. So it could be a 20 year deal.

People are going to start walking away from college sports. This is insane.
