Renowned scientist Dr. Jane Goodall died on Wednesday, according to the Jane Goodall Institute. She was 91.
Goodall was a U.N. Messenger of Peace and the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute. She was born in 1934 in London, England and was always fascinated with animals, according to her biography.
Goodall was an ethologist and known for her studies of great apes, especially chimpanzees. In 1960, Goodall immersed herself with the chimps’ habitat and saw them as individuals with “personalities, complex minds, emotions and long-term bonds,” according to her biography.
She died of natural causes. I don't think of her as shrill environmentalist (a la crazy greta) but as a quiet scientist whose studies of gorillas and chimps are fascinating. And some of her videos and documentaries are wonderful; her ability to bond with the great apes was wonderful to see. RIP!

Rest in peace.
Met her once many years ago.

She will live forever on TD with her "Fascinating behavior" memes.

She's more relevant these days than ever.

A fried of mine met her years ago when they were both giving TED talks on the same day. He told me he didn't know who she was at the time, but as they chatted before their respective talks he said he was thinking to himself, "This woman is obsessed with chimpanzees. It's weird that everything I say, she turns into an opportunity to talk about chimpanzees."

She was sincere I'll say that. Devoted as well. She got too close to what she was studying sometimes I think. Not sure what she would think of Chimp transitioning studies.

The Simpsons where they went to Africa and met someone like her was priceless. RIP

I used it just two days ago.
But seriously, leaving whatever their political ideology is out of the conversation, I've got nothing but respect for her and Attenborough. I grew up with them on the TV because I've always been into nature and wildlife. Jane certainly devoted her life to her passion, and that is both commendable and admirable.
May she rest in peace.

You haven't evolved that far yet.

My mom is 2 months shy of her 91st birthday. She told her doctor she wanted to live long enough to see Trump reelected. She has a new goal and that's to see JD get elected.
In actuality, she said privately to me that she's praying to stay alive long enough to see my daughter get married, but she didn't tell my daughter that in order not to pressure on her.

This feels like the type of thread that will get you taken off of Monday Night Football. I think I’m just gonna stay out of this one.

Jane Goodall also was very open to the possibility of a Bigfoot creature too. She spoke at many Bigfoot conferences if I recall.
