Modern offense

Instead of having an unathletic blocking only FB out there teams are spreading out defenses with another WR

There are plenty of good running teams who dont run any i-formation or very rarely do FYI

Go watch Missouri play a game, one of the best rushing offenses in the country. Good OL, very good backs who break a ton of tackles and FOLLOW their blocking...they never run an i-formation, mostly shotgun and pistol

You want the Les Miles offense back?

Well why not. We’re already getting Les Miles production

tRant circa 2015 "if I never see another pro set or I formation again, it'll be too soon"

tRamt 2025 "Why don't we run out of a pro set or I formation anymore?"

Even Iowa and Wisconsin have abandoned the I formation. It’s a relic of the past now. Modern offenses are much more efficient and explosive when properly coached. Unfortunately LSU has a lack of that on the offensive side of the ball.

Maybe the Wing-T or the Wishbone.

Anything is better than this shite show.

Under center in 11 personnel is not a bad idea but just going straight I formation is not the answer. Under center has its advantages and disadvantages. So does 1-2 or 2-1 personnel.

Under center is harder to scheme tendencies are where the run is going pre-snap. I would like to have more looks but we struggle with both zone and man blocking schemes. shite we even struggle with gap scheme blocking so going under center is not necessarily going to give us the answer we need.

Maybe go back to the Single Wing - defenses haven't seen that in years.

Meanwhile the NFL has gone back to versions of it… yes, the 49ers have a FB.

yup

we just need to be under center half the time and we can run some I and ACE formations. using some I does not mean we have to be in it all the time. pumptards cannot comprehend that tho.

High school quarterbacks and centers don’t ever play under center anymore. As simple as it sounds it’s hard to teach.

Being an old fat man from the mid west. Id love to see the power I return, but I doubt it ever will
