Does it occur to some of you that Nuss might be hurt worse than being told

5th year seniors show the most improvement.
Jamarcus Russel looked elite as 4th year senior in 2006.
Matt Flynn looked elite in 2007 as a 5th year senior.
Jarrett Lee & Jordan Jefferson were better QBs in 2011 than in 2008.
Zach Metenberger was elite in 2013.
Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels were Heisman winners in their 5th year campaigns and they were transfers.
Garrett Nussmeier is too good a QB to regress in his 5th year (4 years with the same QB coach, HC and system)....Something does not add up.
He is hurt worse, than the coaches are telling primarily for his safety and protection.
In 2018 Alabama blanked us 29-0 in Tiger stadium. That was Joe Burrow's only loss as a starting QB in Tiger stadium. Much later we learnt that Joe Burrow had not practices all week and was limited.
Sometimes players have to be protected and less needs to be said about the extent of their injuries......This is what is happening here.
Whatever little you have seen of Van Buren against South Eastern Louisiana, the coaches clearly do not trust him to play against SEC competition week in week out in front of hostile crowds. Van Buren taking over from Nuss would signify the season is over.....And clearly the coaches do not think so.

He is. Plays it off pretty well on the field but watching him come off the field, there were a couple times he noticeably stiffened up. So much so, it looked like he immediately had a corn cob up his butt.

Possibly.
But healthy, he is not special. He has been loyal af to LSU and I respect that but he did not evolve into a great qb. He is meh. Very good from a clean pocket when he sets his feet but that's it.

Nothing says "great coach" than (allegedly) playing an injured player.

We simply don’t know how good he is this year because of the injury. You can see it in his deeper throwing motion. The coaching staff has mishandled this injury and I assume it’s something he’s going to deal with all year

If he’s hurt play mvb. Thats why we brought him in.

if y’all think it’s worse then why are the coaches playing him? How is that helping the team
Or why is Nuss even playing if there’s a possibility of whatever it is yall think he has could get worse with the nfl draft looming
i think he has a mental injury

If true, he doesn’t need to be playing

Ok? And? Then its on Kelly then and its still a coaching problem!! We have a starting qb on the bench that is a great runner and good thrower. As the head man those are the 10 mil. A year kimda of decisions you have to make and make them without fear of hurting someones feelings. End of story make the call when the game may slip away. When the other team is driopping 8 into coverage and rushing 3 guys. I mean a blind man can see this.

He’s not that great healthy

What does this have to do with 5 o linemen can’t block 3 rushers?

Let me simplify:
1. If he’s hurt; he needs to sit. For a while. It affecting his play. BAD.
2. If he’s not hurt, and this is the best he can do, he needs to sit. Cause he sucks now.

I had someone call me yesterday and said it is all over twitter. Nuss is injured and is shutting it down and having surgery, his season is over. I don’t do twitter so I have no clue.

I’m not sure I understand the point here. Protect him from what?
I think he is hurt. He cannot throw deep and seems to have regressed in that area. He did get hurt in camp. If I wanted to protect him, I would either pull him or radically adjust play calling. Instead, they race to third down and effectively put the game on his back. I don’t know how that protects him in any way at all.

Throw deep to who?
Every eligible receiver is double covered.
I think he's definitely hurt worse than we are being told.

Anyone who cannot see hes hurt when he is literally grimacing after he throws downfield is in denial. shite, he put everything he had into 3 throws to Hilton downfield and it died at 35 yds. He is clearly hurt.

I don’t know. He was a preseason Heisman contender and projected early draft pick.

Play another QB. He’s a liability
Posted on 9/30/25 at 8:09 am to mike4lsu
Nothing to do with play selection.

I honestly don't care anymore. When he was too scared to run the QB sneak on 4th and 1, I was done. Time to move on to someone else before this season goes to complete shite. This was supposed to be a playoff team.
