I have been looking for a toned down series to watch. The last 5-10 things I have watched has just been filthy cussing, gory, etc. and looking more of a clean type series to get into.

I stumbled on NASHVILLE on Netflix. I remember when this came out on abc a few years ago and I have always liked Coach Taylor's wife but I never watched an episode when it was out.

I watched the first episode last night and it's a little on the cheesy side but it looks like this show could have potential.

Has anybody on here watched this? If so, am I going to waste my time trying to get into it?

Thanks

It started out alright, Powers Boothe is in it if I remember correctly. Later on there was a good story line with this girl who won a reality show, became an interesting character but then it went nowhere. It's pretty corny, but had some bright spots with the acting and singing.

If you like country music and can overlook the plot holes, it’s okay. If you have something else on your watchlist, I would go there first.

We watched the entire series. It was better when Rayna was still on the show. Show has some god music if you're into country music.

Hayden was pretty good looking early on. The blonde chick was pretty and had some beautiful hair but, she was a bit whiny and clingy.

Charles Esten is actually a really good singer.

Could have done without turning the one guy gay but, I guess every show has to have at lest one.

Funny to hear some of these folks talk in their native voice. Sam Palladio
has a really thick accent in real life.

The chick who played Scarlett (The blond) is actually an Aussie. Her southern accent is spot on.

I can't bring myself to watch anything network television anymore. They all just look so corny and terribly written.

But understand not wanting anything filthy, gory, cussing.

Some good new and oldish shows that avoid that you could check out:

The Crown
Andor
The Gilded Age
Psych
Pride & Prejudice (or virtually any BBC/Jane Austin mini series)
Friday Night Lights
Sherlock
Broadchurch (possibly some cussing, can't remember)
Firefly
Alone (reality show but still great)
Longmire (never finished it bc I wasn't crazy about it but most people really like it)
Downton Abbey
Chernobyl (easily the best show on the list but the possibly some cussing and the firefighter scenes the hospital and dog scenes are shockingly sad so not sure if that's up your alley).

Either way, so much stuff out there that's clean that would be better than Nashville.

It's a network-quality TV show about modern country music

If that isn't enough to stop you, then perhaps you will like it

Wife and I started trying to cut down on the extreme shows that cuss so much and are so in your face with things last Christmas or so. It’s not easy.

We’ve watched:
Friday night lights
Bones
24
Smallville
Longmire
Lost
House

Going to start either white collar or burn notice next.

A lot is rewatch, but we didn’t remember everything.

I’m not a country music fan, but the early seasons were very entertaining. I think it suffered from being a network tv show, thus too many episodes so the story goes off the rails. The original music in the show was damn good. I made a playlist of a couple dozen songs from the show (and I normally listen to Pantera/Megadeth/Metallica ), but they’ve since been removed from Apple music. But I wore that playlist out.
