NOLA first, then BR. This makes me think LA has hope for a better future.

On Monday night, during the Sean Hannity Show, Governor Jeff Landry announced that he had submitted a request for federal assistance to activate up to 1,000 Louisiana National Guard personnel.

Goes on tv to ask himself to deploy the national guard to his own state.

Sounds about right.

The NG is enslaving people? We better call the newspaper.

This is a temporary solution hoping for an extremely short sighted improvement. What’s Landry’s long term plan to help fix the crime?

Additionally, if Trump hadn’t done this in DC, would Landry be requesting this? Does he have a single, original, political idea in his head?

Since we don't round up certain groups and put them on reservations any more, his options are limited.

He doesn’t. Obviously he doesn’t see how the LSP deployment helped and that the issue is manpower. NG is not trained as law enforcement.

On another note, State Active Duty does not require Federal approval so this is just a dog and pony show for a guy whose has had a pretty rough 2025 and pretty much called citizens stupid for not passing the constitutional amendments and his failures on insurance legislation.

He’d be better off recreating Troop NOLA in BR and Shreveport, and making State Police the best paid, fully staffed agency in the state where everyone wants to work.

That’s a long term fix. This is just theater.

Those committing crimes and those profiting off of the chaos of the criminals will not like this at all.

This aggression will not stand, man....

Theatre is best case scenario. Setting up martial law I’m afraid is the long term plan.

This won’t do anything though. It’s purely political theater to make low-IQ boomers happy.

The difference maker in DC is the deployment of federal law enforcement officers. I haven’t heard of any coming to Louisiana. The Guard is more for show than anything.

Then we haven’t even gotten into the issue of shitty judges and DAs that are the REAL problem.

Sorry he’s trying to turn the crime riddled 3rd world shithole into a safer place for the majority of the taxpaying population.

Has it yet occurred to him that he doesn't need the president to deploy the Louisiana National Guard within his own state?
