BR area pawn shops with a decent gun selection

Anyone here do any gun shopping at any BR area pawn shops? I’ve never done any gun shopping (or any other shopping) at a pawn shop so I have no idea where any good spots may be. Do they typically have gun show prices or are they reasonably priced?

Just my experience, the shittier looking the more likely you can find a steal. Also gun shops that do trade ins and consignment are the best.

I haven't bought from a pawn shop in years because the prices they were all charging were damn near retail. Not sure if any in BR even sell guns anymore. But BJs in Denham used to have a good selection.
I think all the "big" places sell used guns too. Like Jims, Cabelas, and Bass Pro. But those prices will be high too.

the “nice” pawn shops are basically priced retail. You’re not going to find an underpriced steal in those places

I stop by a few just to check for something I can’t live without. The prices are always over priced in my opinion unless you are looking for something not made anymore.
Take a tikka T3 for example, you can get a closeout from Eurooptic for 599-650$ depending on model in perfect shape. Pawn shop price will be 600-700$ and it will look like bubba drug it under the fence he was poaching. People who pawn guns don’t typically take care of their finances or anything else very well lol.

I own a pawn shop and you could not be totally more wrong.
People pawn items for various reasons or sale them for various reasons.
It’s not just the bottom of the barrel people who pawn or sale stuff to a pawn shop.
I have a safe full of very nice guns that I have kept that people sold or pawned for various
reasons.
If you are in a shop and don’t like the price of something. Bargain with them. They will more times than not work with you.

what’s the ratio of sold vs pawned for decent quality items?

That’s a big myth also.
Out of all the items pawned in a year.
Less than 10% end up being stolen

I agree; better prices given at pawn shops vs BassPro/Cabelas; sometime local gun shop will beat pawn shop but it’s rare.
I have too many guns; yes that is a real thing and rather than deal with a hoodlum off the internet or gunbroker, I’d rather sell to pawn shops.

Yeah. I used to buy a gun use it for a while, then sell it to a pawn shop and buy another.
Then I realized I could just keep them and buy another

Well, "officially", maybe...
Probably closer to 40-50% of items are stolen. The only items "officially" stolen are the ones the police seize after the items, with serial number, is reported stolen.
All those tools in the pawnshop are stolen, most of the guns are not.

Nah, that’s what you have always heard and been told.
It’s not even close to 40%.
Most of the time you can tell by the individual when coming in whether it is stolen. How they act, what they know about the item, etc.
It’s not worth the risk to the shop to take it if you think it’s stolen. Because 90% of the time the shop loses the money and gets no restitution.

That’s been my problem with pawn shops…introverts like me would rather overpay than try to talk someone down. I figure most pawn prices are slightly inflated assuming most people will try to bargain.
