We are in a rebuild. We want the saints to lose every game.

Winning is pointless this season. We need a QB, and we need to build through the draft. Why are you guys so upset that we are losing. Grab some cheap saints tickets this year take your kids to a few games and just enjoy it for what it is.

Exactly.
We have looked competitive in 3 out of 4 games. Rattler is progressing.
In time we will clear the cap issues and Moore will build his roster.
Saints are going to be fine.

He is NOT good. Even some of the local media is starting to realize it. And they have been Rattler apologists since day 1 lol

That’s why I said it was stupid to re-sign JJ, and Young, and then sign Reid and Cooks.

Should have let everyone walk and take our medicine this year. We pushed more money into the future affecting those teams now. We should only sign super cheap vets like we did with the colts safety, guys looking to start on one year deals.

It’s mind boggling that the dolts on this board are mad about losing. This season is a total throw away. Who cares??!!

Being competitive and losing is ideal. Get experience, get better, play young guys, and lose.

Do you think Drew Brees would do well behind this OL?

I don't want to lose every game. But I won't be upset with a team that will be playing a superior opponent every week if they play competetively. That is all I ask.

I do want to end the season with 2 wins, though. Both against a 3-win Atlanta Falcon team.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Good one. Why waste your time on this board. You should be touring with Chappelle.

Nothing to do with the draft. It’s about stupid decisions putting us in the hole years into the future for no reason b/c this team wasn’t winning anything this year.

If you knew anything about football, or this team, you’d come to the same conclusion. But obviously you don’t…

They should just send out 50 UDFAs every week for three years

No, just needed to sign free agents on bargain contracts and draft better in the mid rounds.

Noah Fant - we had interest in signing him, he got one year 2.75 million. Had started most of his career. Probably signs with us with a starting position open. Signed JJ for ten million = 7 million a year in savings.

Ojulari - signed for one year at 4 million. Started his whole career. Had a previous 8 sack season. Young was re-signed at 17 a year, 13 million savings.

Huff - traded for a 5th round pick, Philly ate most of his salary. Lead the league in pressure rate with the jets. 9ers ended up having to pay 9 million. 8 million in savings. Probably would have ate even more of his salary if we traded them the 4th we did for Vele.

Blackmon - signed him for 3 million. Reid got 10 million. 6-7 million in savings.

These are the type of players we should be going after. All of them combined are less than what we paying Young. All are in their 20s and showed potential.

If you switch out Fant for JJ and either Oljulari or Huff for Young, and not sign Cooks. You looking at anywhere from 21 million to 26 million in cap savings. Don’t sign Reid, it’s another 10 million on top of that.

They may not be quite as good, but they are all in their prime and showed something in the past. And our record would be no different.

You can also factor in the comp picks we’d get for JJ and Chase, b/c Blackmon, Fant and Huff wouldn’t count towards the formula.

That’s how you get out of this mess.

Fair enough. I think they see something with Young and it’s at a top 3 position of importance.

JJ sucks, did not like that deal.

You have to remember also for this list....

They have to want to sign here for cheap. Some may not want to sign cheap for a team that will lose almost every week. Easy to say just sign them, this isn't Madden.

Also, I just really wanted the Saints to win to see the Survivor pools crash.

Fant came here for a visit, so he was interested. He chose to sign with the Bengals to be a backup.

Huff was traded, so he had no choice.

Blackmon signed as soon as a starting spot opened up.

Players want to start to get a bigger contract next go around.

So far I'm personally not excited about any potential QB in the draft. Maybe as the season goes on in college some will really feel like they're head and shoulders above the rest. I see some really good ones that nobody projected. So far though, not convinced on a franchise QB...yet. Might want to consider trading out of the spot to get more draft picks and just draft a QB with wherever you fall. Need all the picks/players we can get.
