Seems like our WRs rarely have separation and not much space between them and a DB. Is it scheme, route running, not running more with 8 dropped back, all of the above? Ole Miss’s receivers seemed to have a 10 yard cushion on several receptions, as well as other games we were watching.

Could probably start with not having plays where multiple receivers are in same area

He under threw several wide open receivers. We also had one breaking open for ts on the interception.

Nuss just isn’t seeing them.

What’s with that? Have noticed it several times this season.

How you gonna get open when 8 guys are in coverage?
We have a couple of burners but Nuss can't get it to them anymore.

We have to commit to the run to force at least 5 in the box. 6 preferably.

When you drop back 8 in coverage of 3 or 4 and you don't have to worry about not getting pressure on a immobile quarterback that absolutely won't run even with a wide open field ahead of him, no one will be open.

La tech defense gave the blueprint

Rush 3, drop 8 and flood the secondary. They know we can’t run and Nuss doesn’t have a hero arm right now.

When you have no threat of a running game and a QB who is no threat to run then you just drop people back on defense and no one can get open. Add in the fact that the OL cant pass block then deep routes are not an option because there is not enough time. When they are open Nuss cant hit them. All and All a cluster on Offense. Oh did i mention the lack of a creative OC.

Sloan is either as terrible as everyone thinks, or we are tipping off our plays. It felt like every running play we ran, Ole Miss moved 7-8 people into the box. Every pass play, they backed up 8 in coverage.

If not, then that failed DC they hired just called a perfect game.

56 yards on 21 rushes.

Running game wasnt working. Why keep calling running plays that dont work?

Nuss HAS to run when he has a 3 man rush like that. It would have pressured them to not rush only 3, but he refuses too.

I believe that Sage Ryan may have had some input into that. Makes sense since he practiced against the same formations and plays for 2 years. Makes sense that he could have tipped off OM coaches in preparation to what we are going to run based on formation and personnel since LSU has changed virtually nothing on offense in 3 years. All I know is that our receivers were blanketed with double and triple teams on the primary receivers, the entire game.

I have seen open receivers on many plays.

Several deep balls had receivers streaking past the defender, only to have to slow down, then look covered when the ball got there.

Several balls thrown to covered receivers were on plays that had open to wide-open underneath routes.
