Court says educator targeted for white toxicity during anti-bias training can sue NYC

An ex-educator claiming the de Blasio administration knowingly permitted “racial harassment” against white staffers in the public school system — during anti-bias training sessions and in the workplace — can sue NYC, a federal appellate court ruled this week.
The bombshell decision on Thursday overturned a lower-court’s dismissal of a 2019 lawsuit by Leslie Chislett, a veteran administrator who led the Advanced Placement for All initiative in the city Department of Education. It paves the way for a trial or financial settlement with the city.
“She presented evidence that would allow a reasonable juror to find that the DOE consistently ignored racial harassment of Caucasian employees during ‘implicit bias’ trainings and workplace interactions,” the three-judge panel of the US 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals found.
quote:
“I knew at the time that what the DOE and its complicit leaders were doing was horribly divisive and unlawful,” she said, adding that former Mayor Bill de Blasio and his then-Chancellor Richard Carranza’s “anti-white policies were translated by their ignorant leaders into my daily humiliation and ridicule — something that was deeply wounding, and that I will never forget.”
Among multiple instances cited by the judges, a senior executive in the DOE’s Office of Equity and Access was quoted as saying in a diversity training session: “There is white toxicity in the air, and we all breathe it in.”
“Negative generalizations and stereotypes about white people were targeted specifically at Chislett during the trainings” in 2018, the judges found, when supervisors and staffers accused her of exhibiting traits of white supremacy.

I'm so thankful the tide is turning. I hope her case is successful.

Well there went Mamdami's $100M for illegals.

Same.
Curious to know what her voting record shows though, both before and after these circumstances she endured. It's irrelevant, but being a teacher in NY, it's a given that she previously voted straight-ticket-(D), so I would think that actually suffering from the policies she actively voted for, would cause her to introspectively reevaluate her political inclinations.
But like I said, it's irrelevant. And it doesn't matter who it is or what profession they're in, nobody should be racially singled out or treated any differently one way or another in a work environment. I hope she breaks them. Like absolutely breaks them into tiny bits. This shite won't stop until it starts really costing the purveyors of this bullshite a LOT of money.

quote:I can't imagine taking someone seriously who would say something like this. This is the product of decades of propaganda and indoctrination. Several generations have been absolutely brainwashed and ruined into thinking like this.
“How dare you approach me out of your white privilege!” an underling is quoted as snapping at Chislett, who asked the staffer why she was late to a meeting she was supposed to help lead.

But I've been assured by Cubbies that the nameless and faceless left is a figment of my imagination.

Most democrats lack this ability.
They will move out of an area their policies have destroyed and move into a red controlled area. They will continue to vote blue and eventually destroy the new area causing them to move on.
They are like a plague of locusts, moving into a good area after they have destroyed the area they were at.
They lack that self awareness. It's like how socialism has never worked but they are convinced this time it will work perfectly.

I would love to sue my employer over implicit bias training

This exact scenario played out in Colorado and turned the state permanently blue. It's happening in Arizona as we speak, though there is a resistance there that feels formidable.

I'm so glad they finally let a woman be the face of white supremacy.

As they say here, "it's a clown world".
They have ‘implicit bias’ training regarding racism? Isn't it obvious that race-based ‘implicit bias’ *is* racism? OK, I guess not, but it *should* be.
