First off:
Just wanna say what's up DATers? Hope all is well with yall. I know I haven't been on this board or this site really the past several months. Don't wanna bore yall with details but I just had to get away from everything in life for a bit, but everything is good now and glad to be back. Which leads me to...
Second off:
RIP to the Astros. Their season is finished. Burnt toast. Haven't really watched much of them the past couple months. Just casually following but decided to be stupid and watched them last night. Beyond embarrassing. Must win baseball against a mediocre team to makes the playoffs and not only play bad, but they looked like they didn't even try. They just want their season over with. Mother fricking pathetic. The missed pop up from Christian Javier last night is the perfect representation of the team now.
The last thing I leave you is this video which is what this Astros team deserves. Just replace the Pelicans from Shaq's mouth to Astros and it's spot on.

Well said.
Sneak peek at what either was going to be the start of my DAT or all of it. Once I saw you posted yours, I lost interest. Which fits right in with the motif of the Astros for the entire second half of the season.
All has been said by our faithful members, there truly is nothing more to say. Yet, I will say a few things.
There is no joy in Houston, when the Astros are at the bat:
A tip of the cap to one of our greatest actors here to signify where the team is with the current organizational structure:
There are no horses in the back, the bats aren’t bopping, and the lack of competitive fire and pride seems nonexistent from this team. It’s baffling to me to see other teams barrel balls and get extra base hits while Houston barely manages any base runners at all—and when they do get a runner on base, he is immediately wiped out by a rally killing double play. How it feels on an every day basis to watch these nerve racking sons a bitches:

Well don't come back to this! Astros baseball is bad for your serenity.

There is only one man capable of bringing this franchise back to the top. But we all know Cranes pride will never allow Alan Ashby back in that building

Yours is way way bettter Mike.
This is correct, but I figured I would at least try and do my part in giving them a good kick in the pants in hopes of turning it around.

Here’s hoping your valiant return coincides with a 20 game or so winning streak.
Although that would ensure no organizational changes in the offseason, so that may not be well received by this group.

That and Julia's restraining order.

At least we aren’t the Tigers. They’ve blown a 12 game lead in less than a month

This team overachieved given all circumstances.
But on to next season
But on to next season

Astros were up 10 games at one point... it's not much better.

If the Guardians are the armpit of MLB and the Tigers are the anus (da booty), what are the Astros?

I searched and couldn’t find the actual article but I saw on one of the Astros fan sites that Rome has a piece where he mentioned that the coaches told Jesus Sanchez when he got here, that they wanted him to loft the ball more and tinkered with his swing.
That would explain the frickery after he had a very decent line when we acquired him.
He should have told them “frick you Jobu…I do it myself.”

If heads do not roll, it's an unserious organization. Coaching does matter.

And training too
shite has been going downhill since Luhnow left
The more Crane has been involved. Took out Nolan's boy and put in his own.
Then hired The View as consultants

Especially considering the changes the Red Sox worked with Bregman on and the success that followed.

Fired Click after a championship
Nixed possible trades
Let the manager undermine the GM
Made a lazy manager hire to succeed the previous lazy manager hire
Lots of parallels to the post Jimmy Johnson Cowboys. They got away with it for a while with Jimmy’s guys, similar to Luhnow’s guys
