Miles seems to have gone against what you think he would have done in this situation. Kind of weird. But, it was a no-win situation. Either way, he can't come off looking good. Either take his scholarship or lose Randle?

exactly. I went to bed last night thinking that RR was totally gone, because I couldn't see Miles pulling Benton's offer after Papa Randle's radio appearance.
However, if it's true that Benton was the one making the twisted spin on what the coaches were saying, then it makes more sense for Miles to pull his offer...

Actually, there were about 5 pages of replies to it, along with many welcome aboard to RR and the family. Sorry you missed it. It was nice. He came on right at 1:00 p.m. Check it out when the search feature comes back to life.

And it's not like Bastrop High is a school for the gifted and talented; if Benton was struggling there he had zero shot of handling a full courseload at a school with an average ACT of 26 for its incoming freshmen class and committing ~40-hours/week to SEC football.

I don't feel too bad for Benton. This wouldn't have been a problem if he'd taken care of business on one of his previous two attempts. I wish it wouldn't have ended this way, but assuming he finally makes it through the NCAA Clearinghouse he'll still be playing for an SEC school.
