Miles did the honorable thing

There's no honor in this at all, and Im sure Miles didnt enjoy it or feel honorable. He did what he had to do to sign the #1 WR in the country. Im sure he's still questioning himself.

I agree. I don't think Les enjoyed having to make that decision at all, but I think it was merely a business decision. He's at the helm and he has to make the tough decisions for the program. This was one of them.

DB will be fine. He's gonna play at Auburn, not some rinkydink subpar school.

some on here may argue that fact with you that Auburn is a "rinkydink subpar school"

point made, but as much as I sometimes despise AU, I still think they will be back before we can blink. And it is a great pickup for them. Works fine for LSU too.

Bad feelings at Bastrop?

anyone think the folks in Bastrop might be disgruntled with the way LSU handled this situation? ...to the point where it may affect future recruits?

personally, i think it says keep your shite together in the classroom...

I agree. It was a pretty dicey situation to be in, but Les handled it with as much class as possible to the point of apparently placing the kid at another rival SEC school for all his efforts. This is how big time recruiting happens. Get used to it or get used to 3 - 8 seasons again.

Thanks for the info.

ETA:
Miles was put in a hard spot and had to make a choice on which WR to take. I'm not saying it's a no-brainer, but Benton has been trying to qualify for two years. If he would have kept his grades in order he would be here and be a Jr. this year and RR would be a freshman. RR has his things in order and is ready to go. Benton may or may not. I think it was a tough descision to make, but the right descision to reward the player who has done things the right way. IMO
