Google/Youtube is lying thru their teeth when they say they were FORCED to ban accounts. The people who run G/YT are bad people who have always mistreated conservatives on their platform.
I know this first-hand, because they have shadowbanned and even temporarily banned me. I don't even create content on G/YT, and yet theyve suppressed me for simply expressing conservatives views.
That being said, I take it as good news that they are acknowledging what they have done. My best guess is that they believe that definitive information is about to be introduced proving that the 2020 election was both manipulated and stolen, and they want to get out front on that. A mea culpa of sorts, if you will.

I can tell you that they don’t give a shite about free speech. They care about antitrust cases ongoing in the United States and abroad that the current admin could help them out with by choosing to poorly prosecuting those cases and pressuring foreign powers.

They bowed to the pressure (at best). They will do the same the next time. I think it is more likely they are bowing now to Trump and are simply waiting for their side to get back in power.
In the big scheme of things. It does not matter. Either way they have shown that they will do whatever is required to silence the voices of reason. FULL STOP. They are the enemy.
