The Saints could certainly use him. Did you see how bad the secondary was against Seattle?

Yes, I am sure he will make the lockerroom better

He's a talented guy but there is a reason he gets moved at every possible chance a team can get to move or cut him. He wears thin in the lockerroom extremely quickly

Stuck in the middle of; DA is no longer here, so let's see if he wants to come back, and why should we try to grab players to help this team win games.

No, Saints should be shedding veterans for draft picks and younger players with potential, not adding vets.

I love the spin on this board, we shouldn’t add CGJ b/c he’s a veteran.

But the trade for Vele, who by the way is older than him, was a great move to add a young talent to this roster.

we should not have traded for anybody giving up any picks.

we will suck regardless. all we should be doing is trade vets/dump salary and stack picks. develop who we can and see who is a long term fit here.

The issue isn't that he is a vet.

We are going to be bad regardless of whether we add him or not.

But:

1) We should be giving young guys on our team as many reps as possible

and

2) we need a staff to build a culture and Ceedy is the ultimate anti-culture guy

Still those who scream "we got fleeced what are we doing". Many said there is something going on in the lockeroom and they got rid of it. But they still foamed and screamed. Dude gets passed around like a case of chlamydia.

Let's face it the Saints have entered another period, a la the Mecom era. Unloading Veterans for draft picks wouldn't mount to much, especially with the current front office in place. All you have to do is watch the Lions and remember what was.

I knocked that move too, so you are off on this one.

I slightly disagree. Even if you think the front office would screw up the draft pick, it does help finalize the cap purge. Plus, it keeps them from overpaying on players that will insist on being paid market rates, justifiably so, when they need to focus on bottoming out the roster so a true rebuild can take place.
