Happy Tuesday everyone!

I am bartending at a local spot, and one of the regulars inspired me by telling me for their 40th birthday/birthyear they tried 40 different margaritas to find the best one.

I decided for my 40th that I want to find the best Old Fashioned in the city. I have some time before I do this (March 2027 is when year 40 starts), but I wanted to put a list together for where to go.

So, what is your favorite/the best Old Fashioned in the city?

Haven't been in a few years, but SOBOU always had great, creative OFs. They are always well balanced and never too sweet. They had a campfire one years back that is still the best OF I've ever had.

Not sure about their Old Fashioned, but Crescent City Steak House makes an awesome Sazerac.

This past Friday, I had several at Galatoire’s, Rye Old Fashioned. Bourbon House has a good one, so does Tableau & Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse. Most of the time I’m drinking Abita Amber beer, but for a meal I love an Old Fashioned…

Sure, you want to deal with hipster sass.

Barrel Proof is the right answer.

Really enjoy the fig old fashioned from Bouligny Tavern. La Petite Grocery has a great one as well.

If you are looking to get drunk quick, Galatoire's. Pretty much just bourbon and a shot of cherry juice.
