Seems a lot of the media are now downplaying our credentials due to the underperformance of Florida and Clemson. Been seeing a lot of media heads saying we’re overrated and shouldn’t be in the top 5 becusse we haven’t played anyone which is funny because all preseason all I heard was our September schedule is brutal. What they seem to be ignoring is we still went undefeated despite nuss being hobbled.

Now with him fully healthy, the pass game should take off and the defense will continue to be elite. When we handle ole miss Saturday their will be no more doubts from the media that this team is natty caliber

Hope we just win a road game against a top 15 opponent in the sec. I dont care if its 3-2 and we look horrible.

Our offense line is gonna magically learn how to block as a unit this week.

I agree. I think LSU has a statement road win Saturday and wins by 13+

Nuss healthy + Urgency to get the offense going + an average at best OM defense seems like the perfect recipe to me for a big LSU win.

I also don’t think OM is what they have been the last few years, despite their current ranking. And LSU is better than what it has been the last few years.

LSU scores more than 30
Ole Miss scores under 20

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is the most important remaining game that we have on our schedule. I understand the talk about going 1-0 each week and we do have some tough games remaining even after this.

But a win here in Oxford would be huge. We haven't won there since 2019 and they will be hyped up and ready to go. They may still be a playoff team even with a loss with the way their schedule shapes out, so it will be a huge notch in our belt with how Clemson and Florida have fallen off.

A win here would do wonders for the fanbase in regards confidence in the team and coaching staff moving forward. It is a big game for Kelly, Sloan and even Baker matching wits against Kiffin.

If we win here, our schedule shakes up very nicely. I'd rather not have to go into Tuscaloosa or Norman in a must-win situation, and a win is the first step to preventing that.

Wholeheartedly agree on paper we are clearly more talented. Better portal class + Compsite HS classes over the last 3 seasons. I think we will put together our most complete performance of the season. Offense is ready to explode and the defense will be their usual elite selves.

A win this weekend sets them up really nicely for the remainder of the season. You can afford to lose, but the margin for error afterwards is small

The media ranked LSU #4 so which is it?

Rebs can't afford to lose this one.

We've gotta go to Norman, Athens, and Starkville. We also play South Carolina at home. There are more losses out there for us, in other words.

Funny how we are getting knocked and questioned for UF’s underperformance but Miami is being celebrated for that same win.

They’ll do the same when Ole Miss is 5-2. We’ll just keep beating teams

The only real “media head” that votes on the poll is Rece Davis, so probably all of the other ones

Maybe next time we punch it in instead of taking a knee for the box score voters.

Just keep winning. I want the media and all the talking heads to continue undervaluing us. That is a good place to be. Just keep winning and the flowers will come.

Counterpoint: Under BK, LSU has had just one "statement win" - a 45-20 win vs #7 Ole Miss (who finished unranked at 8-5).

I'm not saying wins vs Bama, Mizzou, and Ole Miss in the other years weren't good wins, but to me a statement is a dominating win against a good team.

Get past this game and we have a bye week. Like others have said this sets up nicely. It's a chance to get healthy during the bye and see if we have to make a change at RT. It gives us time for an offensive reset.

I think we roll SC at home. They're not the same team as last year. I'm not buying the Vandy hype either. If we beat OM I think we finish 10-2 at worst.

Book it: If we go into Oxford and come out with a win, this will be the narrative of most of the talking heads. The polls may keep us in the top 5 but all we'll hear is "Yeah, but, LSU hasn't beaten anyone with a pulse". Clempson, the Gators, and if we win they'll add Ole Piss onto that list. Let Bama stumble and we could go into Gumptown and beat them senseless and that'll still be the mantra.

We'll have to wait and see what the committee thinks when they start putting out rankings. For now, I've just accepted that - polls be damned - we're going to have to just win the SEC and then fight our way through the CFP brackets to get any real respect. That'll be enough for me. Just keep winning.
