We are the very last house in a large neighborhood. If anyone loses power we do. We never even blinked today.

Sounds like just an unfortunate occurrence today, not the norm.

the only power grids as flimsy and decrepit as Entergy/Baton Rouge are:

Entergy/New Orleans
San Juan, PR

This is actually our third outage within a week at the office (off of Corporate). The first one was about 3 hours in sunny weather.

If Louisianians had any idea the absolute incompetence and refusal to take accountability and responsibility that Entergy Louisiana has, they'd revolt.

I've contracted for hundreds of utilities from the great lakes to the gulf, both big and small, Entergy LA took the cake on being the biggest bunch of wannabes that I ever dealt with.

My sister said she was without power all Friday night. She lives in Bocage close to the CC and there was a pole and mini-sub station completely wiped out by a car on Jeff across from the CC. Don't know if this is related to that outage but I do know that Energy "isn't the best".

Same exact area lost power Friday night as well. That was from someone hitting a pole though.

It’s the second pole hit on Jefferson that knocked out power within 3 months. And it you look at the pole on the corner of Jefferson and Essen it’s completely split at the top. So any decent wind will take it out.

Yes, when it originally happened, I told my wife "I'll bet some fool ran into a power line off of Essen." Sure enough, the next day I drove by and saw all the glass and a cut up power pole off the side of the road in front of the CC.

I'll bet the band aid they put on to fix that disaster couldn't stay together through the rain shower this afternoon.

In Tara. We usually lose power, but today it just blinked once and stayed up.

Cheers!

Louisiana infrastructure is nearing Mexico levels of unreliability.

Seems like a good idea to add some high demand data centers now.

Which side of Tara are you in? We practically never lose power. When we had a few half second blinks the other night, it was noteworthy because it was so rare.
