What’s going on with Verizon the last couple months?

Several places in the middle of town have zero bars.

They must need a price increase. Almost $200 for 2 phones is absurd.

I just got a text that said they’re upgrading the service in my area and I may experience intermittent problems

This has been going on for months so don’t think the two are related. I have a friend whose co worker’s cell phones no longer works in some areas of the building. Started in April

It's been bad in Denham as well. Can even get anything to load right in the middle of town

We live by Webb Park Golf Course and I have zero Verizon service at my house. I finally raised enough hell between Verizon and the Public Service Commission that Verizon gave me a mini cell tower, it connects to satalites and cast a signal around 500 feet from the receiver. I think they retail for around $400.00. I lose the signal halfway down the street and drop calls until I get to the Webb Park Clubhouse where I regain service. It's like they have a black hole in this area.

Remember the squeeky wheel gets the grease. They advertise full coverage and show it on their maps. You're paying for that service they aren't providing.

You need to call them. I pay $30 for my unlimited and pay $200 for four lines.

Verizon outage check

Coverage map

Turn off 5G. Based on the coverage map of BR, most of BR is covered by 5G Ultrawide band, but there are also a ton of areas that are 4G LTE only. Your phone is probably "reaching" for 5G as the preferred network, when there is 5 bar strength 4G LTE network that you're driving through.

Talked to a buddy who is a Verizon engineer because my service in BR area has been dogshit the last few months. He says it’s a combo of things. One being they are upgrading equipment, two the newer iPhones are having issues with all of the different bands (LTE,5G,and 5GUW). He recommended putting my phone in LTE only mode for the next few months. I have and it’s been better. I went a 2 week span where I could not go a day without dropping 10 calls a day.

Yikes! 187/mo with Verizon includes 5 lines, Hulu+ with espn and Disney and 4 of us got the deal for free iPhone 16.
We just switched over the summer and I haven’t noticed any issues with them.

My wife (sorry no pics) also live by Webb Park. 1 bar at most and wifi calling doesn't work seemlessly. I drop calls all the time. We had AT&T and thought switching to Verizon was going to be better. It's just as bad. I live less than a mile from 1-10 and don't have any service. Finally the Verizon folks are sending me a cell extender (when they are re-stocked) for my house. But it also runs off of WiFi. No there's no real solution when the power goes out.

Infuriating. They wanted me to pay for the cell extender. I said why am I paying more for a service I'm not getting now.

Yep. Southdowns is the worst place for Verizon service for me. The shopping center across the street isn't much better, which is annoying because I spend a decent amount of time at Bulldog whose own WiFi is also bad.

What's annoying is I switched to Verizon years ago specifically because I had no AT&T service at my husband's old house in the middle of town. Now it sounds like AT&T has gotten better.

It is time for the Trump phone. Verizon has had problems in a lot of places. I switched to AT&T a few months ago after 12 years with Verizon. Not in love with AT&T but I needed a phone that works.
