Fully concede it was SELA and they are FCS… but having Nuss and the receivers get involved and the running game have some success has to be big for this unit’s mentality going forward.

You could feel the frustration after the first drive… and then they broke through and it’s like the mental dam broke in some sense.

I was very much opposed to Nuss playing this game and resting but I do think CBK made the correct call in playing him to get them in rhythm.

Last night was fun!

The offense is completely different when nuss is healthy. He looked confident, mobile, played with swagger and made several big time throws. Pass game will be fine moving forward

Nuss was slinging it. Still feel like there are a few throws that had a little air under it, but he looked the most normal last night.

They certainly looked better after the first drive.

But until they prove otherwise, I don’t trust this offense to get critical yards on the ground when needed.

Yes, but why take the ball first? When is the last time that resulted in points?

I agree with your sentiment. They made boneheaded mistakes all night but got away with it due to their opponent. Both Andersons had key drops, plays well short of the sticks on 3rd and long. Short grinding runs instead of blowing them off the ball. Nuss had at least one look out sack where the lineman totally whiffed.

Maybe because Southeastern won the toss and deferred????

If they defer, doesn’t that mean LSU chooses?

Yes LSU chooses. But the other team chooses the second half.

If LSU chose to kick off to start the game, Southeastern still gets to chose to start the second half.

Do you think they would chose to kick? Really???

When you defer you are basically saying “I want to receive the second half kick”

But yes LSU could have chosen to kickoff to start BOTH halves.

I got it. You choose to kick or receive, but they are going to receive 2nd half regardless.

I posted last week that I thought Nia’s should play and either get him on a pitch count or just the first half. I’m glad he played because he looked healthy. The ball was coming out of his hand differently last night. His placement was outstanding and showed a lot more velocity.

I think it was a good win for morale purposes on offense but we are going to have our hands full next week.

OL run blocking and RBs breaking big runs is something we need to be a complete team. Sky is the limit from there

When you defer, you are choosing to receive the ball in the second half, instead of receiving the ball to start the game.

Seems we always struggle on offense early.

I think the scripted plays suck. When we're done with the scripted plays, the offense looks better.

You’re really complaining about a coaching decision that you don’t even understand the rule?

And it wasn’t even a decision.

“ Felt like the Offense got the monkey off their back last night”

This is a team that lost by 20 to Louisiana Tech. Who could not have scored on SLU?

The O line is awful. Look, I'm sure this is a great group of guys who are hard workers and are devoted tigers that bleed purple and gold but God bless them. They are as slow as they are confused. The UM DC is licking his chops at the stunts and blitzes he is going to call. They are not football smart and are poorly coached.
