How did we get to this point? When The Smiths were popular, Morrissey was just about the biggest asexual vegan pansy on the planet.

The left trying to attack Morrissey is a new door in Bizarro World.
One of The Smith’s hits, which was fantastic and unique and ahead of it’s time, was treated like an anthem for the gay community in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
That song, with its instantly recognizable opening riff, called “How Soon Is Now” is a classic of the New Wave genre.

I'm neutral on Morrissey here. Not neutral on wanting to see him killed (ie. hell no!), even though he supposedly said something of a death wish about Trump (which got him an unwanted interview). His music is average. The Smith's "How Soon Is Now" is a classic...the rest...meh.
His politics against the deep state, at least according to occasionally accurate Wiki, would suggest he'd be a good candidate to pin on "right wingers" assassinating him based on his friendly thoughts on Brexit/Farage, but this guy generally just wants attention.
Keep in mind, the idiotic left tried to pin the alt-right on the assassination of Charlie and also the two Minnesota lawmakers who didn't try to block the restriction of Medicare to illegal aliens as did their democratic colleagues. They were grossly wrong, and they'll be grossly wrong about the next soft target social influencer or media personality, doing the same thing, trying to trigger the majority conservatives into radical thinking. We are not trained that way. They are and they try so hard to sell that narrative that they are willing to commit murder to sell a stupid narrative.
