I see they won the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. Pretty stout field. Kid from Benton finished top 3. McWilliams is his last name. Apparently has some game. Good stuff to watch for as the season goes along.

The #1 I missed out on not being a D1 golfer is some of the tracks these guys get to play.

One of the members at our CC played at UGA. He said UGA golf team gets to play Augusta every other year because of two members.

As a former UGA golf walkon, can confirm. Thoroughly enjoyed my day there.

Nice, we went out to The Rose about two months ago. Will be another legit course the teams will get to play/practice on.

Honestly, and I really hate to say this, Georgia Tech has it made with their golf team. Their “home” course is East Lake and they have their choice of fantastic clubs within metro Atlanta that are happy to host them about anytime they want with just a phone call. I can’t think of too many programs with a better set up for success.

The owner of the private club I worked at was on the Tech golf team with Charlie Rymer and David Duval. I got to play the Honors Course outside Chattanooga with the three of them and it was trash talking all day long when Chris told them I played at UGA. Not many times I’ve had more fun on the golf course getting my arse kicked. Also not many times I was the weakest player in the group either.

Lots of College teams get to play Augusta National! Big money Augusta members treat their alma Mater's golf team ...up to twice a year .. Tolby Witt is a Vanderbilt alumnus who takes Men's and Women's teams to Augusta twice a year.

Also, their practice facility is incredible.

Northwestern is like that minus the good golf weather of the Atlanta area but with even better access. They play Shoreacres 3 - 4 times per year, Chicago GC at least once a year, Skokie all the time, as-needed access to places like Medinah, Olympia Fields, Rich Harvest Farms, Old Elm, Butler National, Conway Farms, etc. They also have an absolutely out of this world nice indoor practice facility. Main outdoor facility is at Glen Club (which hosts a KFT event); course is solid but nothing spectacular but that practice facility is elite. They also go to Palm Beach every spring to train up for the season.

They've managed to figure out the formula on the women's side and while they've had years on the men's side where they've been good or even very good, they're still cracking that nut.

Vanderbilt's set up looks absolutely ridiculous as well. Only downside there is that they don't have nearby access to multiple top 100 courses in America like you would in Atlanta or Chicago.
