Leftist co-worker lost it on me tonight about Kimmel

I have a co-worker from CO who I travel with for work a few times of year. During normal conversation he's a default lib and we can have a good conversation on politics. On a 4 day trip this week, I asked hey "I know we don't agree on all things political, but tell me your thoughts on Israel/Gaz? We've just never talked about it." We had a very good natured conversation about it and landed on the same side. This was mid-drive and no alcohol involved.
Due to previous arguments, I've learned he can't handle his liquor and I will not drink with him after dinner. I'm the most affable political person you will ever meet. I can steel man the other side better than anybody.
Tonight we had a nice happy hour with a peer and went back to our hotel. Didn't eat dinner, and about 2 hours later I texted and said "hey there's a whataburger, want to go grab a small burger." We did and not 2 minutes within sitting down, I could tell he had been drinking, no doubt. In 3 minutes, he went off about Kimmel firing.
I said "hey, if Trump pressured them to do it, I don't support."
"of course he did. you know he did. you know he pressured the FCC to put it on ABC. "
if they did that, I don't support it. Kimmel said flat out lied and was wrong in his statements, but I don't think the FCC should pressure his firing.
he said that he knew Trump was behind this.
I cut him off and said "hey, i know you're passionate about this, but we're just not going to agree. i think for our relationship, we should stop here."
he said i was right and that he knew i was for free speech. then on our walk back it was 3 straight minutes of going off on Trump and Kimmel being right about it being a MAGA dude. He could be a lot of things, but to pretend that this dude was right wing is delusional.
obviously alcohol was involved, but the left absolutely cannot handle things right now.i'm not in support of Kimmell being fired via Trump, but the dude has been a dishonest clown on federally protected airways forever.

You really shouldn’t talk religion or politics with co-workers.

All you needed to respond to him is on Wednesday Kimmel said that we needed to calm down the rhetoric and stop blaming each other, and less than a week later on Monday he said that MAGA killed him. Just that alone, he should be fired.

He might get violent like his brethren on the left

he's good when he's sober. i put 2 and 2 together and realized that we haven't ever had an argument while driving or at dinner. it only comes when we have a drink late.
i made a point to say "no drinking with him after dinner." tonight was a bit weird, so i said "hey let's go get a quick burger" around 8, not realizing he was already drinking.
He's a very affable person, but suffers from TDS when he's sober, and it gets volatile around drinking.

Slowly cut him out of your personal life.

Give him what he wants and put it in his butt while screaming Trump did it

Tell homeboy to pump the brakes on the booze. Honestly, that might be what pisses him off more than anything political

alcohol affects everybody differently. i'm your BFF when i drink. my wife (no pics) thinks she's the sexiest thing on earth when she drinks. my BiL gets a bit gay when he drinks.
this dude thinks he's the second coming of Noam Chomsky when he drinks.

Let him vent then tell him that
ABC is airing a tribute to Charlie Kirk in Kimmel's formal timeslot. And that you'll get back to him with details.

Trump is behind it. It’s not even debatable. It’s as plain as daylight.

I don’t talk about politics at work. If it’s brought up I usually say something generic and nothing else. My opinions are not that important that everyone at my job needs to hear them. I’m not that important.

I think that comedians and entertainers are just going to be out there saying provocative stuff. That’s their whole profession. And I don't want this to be a precedent and our entire society becomes scared of talking shite.
I know, the libs started cancel culture. But it makes you wonder who the Karens are now trying to cancel everyone else.
And dishonesty has been a problem for a lot of people these days. Literally everyone is lying about something or other.

It doesn’t feel so good having the other side give you a taste of your own medicine. So many conservatives like me tried to tell y’all not to go down this road of cancel culture. Everything was fine when liberals dominated almost every aspect of media and were able to bully conservatives. Cry me a river

More and more, I feel like it's impossible to talk to shitlibs. There is no reasoning with these ppl.
