WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent previously agreed to occupy two different houses at the same time as his "principal residence," Bloomberg News reported, an agreement similar to one President Donald Trump has called mortgage fraud in his unprecedented bid to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.

But that won’t happen.

Bessent is worth aprrox 700 million. Wouldn't seem like he'd need to be committing mortage fraud. IMHO

Yep

Wealthy people like to cheat the system just as much as poor people

Though his attorneys and accountants should know better how to play the game

No Intent to defraud standard was just met with this tidbit. Bessent didn’t sign it his attorney did who probably didn’t know the personal situation of Bessent.

Unlike Lisa Page who signed the docs herself there is intent.

I am extremely impressed with this guy - totally unflappable - as the leftists are screaming at him he just smiles and destroys whatever they just said with solid facts and logic.

SFP knows all about intent. That’s how he excuses the left’s fraud.

I would guess that this is intentionally worded weirdly to imply but avoid actually stating that he fraudulently claimed a 2nd home or a rental home as his primary residence on mortgage applications in order to get cheaper rates, a felony

either he committed the crime of mortgage fraud or he did not.

"agreeing to occupy 2 houses at the same time", whatever the Heck that means, sure sounds nefarious but does not actually mean anything.

the linked article seems to go out of its way to avoid answering the only salient question

Can we just focus on Pencil Neck and that nut job from NY first?

They hammered Trump for 2 years or more over that BS

over loans that had been satisfied

this is insanity

Mortgage experts told Bloomberg there was no sign of wrongdoing or proof of fraud in Bessent's home-loan filings and said the issue highlights incongruities found in such documents.
