Is it illegal for the federal government to kill the shooter in public?

Expedite his appeals all the way to the Supreme Court. Let’s hang him in Portland.

Disagree. Execution just feeds a blood list.
Lock him up for life and during every hour that he is awake pipe in audio if Charlie Kirk’s speeches, podcast episodes, debates, etc. He’s in his early 20’s so 50+ years of subjecting him to that would be a more satisfying sentence than death.

Then execute him via firing squad once he's 60.

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't watch it. I haven't watched Charlie being shot and I wouldn't watch his killer be executed. I'm at a point where I don't want to be any more desensitized.
Not my call to say whether or not it should be a public execution or not, but if it was, I would abstain from participation. That's just me though. Kid deserves the death penalty and I hope he gets it. Same with the dredhead in NC. Burn at the stake, for all I care. Incinerate the voices in his head along with the rest of him.

I’d like to see him executed 15 minutes after the gavel comes down, but the optics of that could backfire. As much as I hate it, his case shouldn’t be handled any differently than any other politically motivated capital murder in Utah.

Look up the appeals of a man in jail in Utah that is sentenced to death by firing squad. Go see if it updated. He is on hold because he is said to have dementia.
I wish a lawyer would opine but death by firing squad isn't instant. They sit on death row for as long as lethal injection I imagine.
Some posters here have posted that the gallows happen at dawn after a trial and the next day they are hung. As if we lived in the horse and buggy days. The ones that got convinced they hung anybody at GTMO NAS, Cuba, really need their brains examined-& off 8kun and reddit.
