My thoughts after re-watching the game - one simple issue

I was in the stands Saturday, so I watched the replay to get a better sense of the offensive woes. Quick thoughts...
1. The game comes down to blocking and tackling.
Our defense this year is way better at tackling.
Our offensive is very bad at blocking. Not just the OL. The backs, TEs, WRs all did terrible jobs engaging their man. Lots of plays that would have worked if a WR or TE finish their block. #10 Sharp has to improve there.
2. Running game - enough with the inside read run. It doesn't work if the QB isn't a threat. DEs and LBs aren't biting.
I do like the pistol pitches and that I-formation on the last big run. If we can throw in some counter traps and we'll executed misdirection (block somebody!) then we can get some running game success.
But, basically our offense would improve noticeably if we just blocked better. Get back to basics.

I think we need to take advantage of matchups.
Barion Brown and A Anderson need 10 touches each a game. Spread out the field better

Eh...not the best analysis 4/10

Harsh grader. 7/10.

My main takeaway was Cooley is a bad motherfricker.

Cooley plays well but he is not the best DB on the field.

The majority of this isn't read option, it's RPO's and "shotgun play action"

Just convert 3rd and short and we’ll be fine.

Right, but he makes some damn good tackles when we need them.

I will say as bad as our oline has been. Our rbs have been as bad or worse in blitz pickup.

Well with Delane on the field everyone else is jockeying for #2.

And go watch the game again with an eye on Sharp when he's required to block on a play. Usually a bad result.

The RBs seem to wait for the line to develop instead of downhill hitting the gap. I hear a lot of people talking about "zone runs" but I rarely see them just downhill hammering one of the gaps.
Almost every run play from the FLA game was a slow or counterstep run into the middle of the line but not downhill fast.
Whats up with that?
Is it just that the line is clogging up everything in the middle and not opening the hole?
I saw a few where the right side of the line just didnt engage with the man they should have blocked. Including several misses by the TE.

Nothing will change the abysmal OL play until Davis is gone. And we don’t have a superstar QB who can cover up for shitty OL play.
