With Peyton Houston in the fold, which QB will be the second to commit? Elijah Haven or Nuss 2.0? And who should LSU pursue harder? A lot of people are kind of down on Haven and I don't know why, if the #1 QB in the country is in your backyard you have to do whatever it takes to keep him home, that's just my take on it.

Haven and Houston aren't gonna end up at the same place. Also, who says LSU has Haven as the #1 QB in the country?

Here's a nice breakdown of Houston's talent from Roc Boys Football. It has a few clips too.
Youtube
They think he's the top QB based on a few factors:
-High production
-Anticipation
-Ability to change speeds on throws
-Layering passes
-Ability to get yards with his feet

you take haven but if you do, you lose houston. I do not think Haven comes to LSU, i think his parents want him somewhere else.

so in that case I think you take Houston & baby Nuss, go get a QB for next year out the portal and call it a day. MVB starts senior year, whoever is better of Houston/Nuss starts year 2.

Haven appears to be a special prospect but keep in mind he's playing 2A competition like Arch did
LSU has a price point and if Haven wants more than what LSU is offering he will look elsewhere, it's that simple

LSU can't afford to miss out when Underwood backed out last minute

Taking two QBs is silly as one is guaranteed to transfer out

Ride with Houston and let the others be. If they wanted in, they should have jumped aboard when presented the opportunity

Haven should come out a year early and then Pop redshirts. Only a 1 year overlap if both are as good as projected.

The problem with that strategy is if I’m your competition and I know you’ve gone all in on one player without a backup, I just swoop in two or three weeks beforehand with a much bigger bag of cash. If the player takes the bigger payday — which they should — LSU is cooked.

Now as the competition I’ve really f’ed you for the foreseeable future.

We can win with Pop.

The other 2 - you snooze, you lose.

Here's the thing, they might both be great, but if they are, the thing that will determine who is better in college is going to be who they play for..

Case in point, look at Nico. Was good at Tennessee, garbage at UCLA. The wrong situation can make or break a QB.

You take 2 knowing that one will transfer. You now get to evaluate both in you r system and pay whichever you'd rather keep. If you take 1 and let the others walk, you are stuck with only the one you signed and its not a guarantee that he doesn't transfer anyway.

No only taking one and handing over a job without a competition is silly.

You take two and let them compete. The winner gets the job. The loser transfers if they want.

If we dont take 1 in 2026 class, taking 2 in 2027 makes total sense.

There's always going to be transfers with whatever situation, but 2 vs. 1 gives you better odds of finding the right one than just rolling with 1 QB commit over 2 classes.

Theres also the chance someone reclassifies into 2026 always as well.

I would take lil Nuss and Pop vs Haven alone any day of the week.

Can they both play at the same time? Better to spend those bucks on complementary pieces.

I follow them too. Seems like they see what i see.

I remember months back being all Haven until I finally watched Houston's highlights. Perfect college QB and he has a chance to be an NFL guy too (Bryce Young). He is a natural passer and he has speed at the QB position. He's exactly what LSU needs at offense.

I might get downvoted to death, but I don't like how Haven's release looks.

He's Felipe Franks 2.0 in my book.

You have to factor in the “salary cap” for a 2nd 6 figure QB. You will probably pay $1M for a starter next year too.
Give me more Patrick Paytons and Delanes.
