Cops go to the wrong house and shoot the home owner...again

And then after knowing they are at the wrong house, they handcuff the children and throw them in the back of the cop car. This is why more and more people have no sympathy when they see "end of watch" for a cop. Cops don't care who they hurt.

Bad cops are less than 1% and must be dealt with accordingly. Dumbasses here almost killed an innocent person.

The problem with policing is that the vast majority of non-federal cops have so much power with their guns and laws on their side, but they are so woefully undereducated and trained for the power they have. Who else in this country has so much free reign to use deadly force against people.

Defunding the police has consequences.
Who could know cutting training and resources would negatively affect performance?
Thank you liberals!

So, not only did they shoot the man in his own house, now they’re charging him with assault against a police officer, a charge that carries a 99 year sentence. That’s after making him crawl down the driveway to a police cruiser with a bullet wound in his leg and handcuffing his children, including a 13 year old, and making them sit in the back of a police cruiser for 4 hours, again all while handcuffed.
That’s some serious protecting and serving right there.

Grand Prairie Police say officers responding to a 911 call early Friday morning were sent to the wrong home and shot a person who pointed a gun at them
Sounds like your beef should be with 911 dispatch, not the cops. Not sure how you blame the officers when they rolled up to a disturbance call at 1:45am and a dude walked out of the garage pointing a gun at them.

Cops were dumb in this situation, and I highly dislike the police as an organization but
This is a step too far for me.

About 3/4 the way through the video, they say the police are seeking an assault charge against this man. Wtf.
fricked up, but at least they didn't kill the guy. They could at least try to take the high road, apologize, admit they were wrong, and try to retain some dignity/respect, but nope they are doubling down with stupidity. I hope the citizens of that town bond together and treat the police like shite until they change their way. They deserve zero respect.

Because they are charging this dude that they already shot. I blame them for that.

Correct, but good luck getting a bunch of people with no respect for authority to give the cops the benefit of a doubt.

The body cams will tell the story.
If they were banging on the door and never identified themselves then they are screwed.
And what was the 911 call for? If it was a noise complaint then they are screwed.

I was involved in a situation at my shop almost the same way. Cops are stupid. I’ll post the story when I can. Cops are stupid.

I'm no lawyer but I'd assume they have no intentions of putting this guy in jail and are only charging him to try and use it in negotiations for the lawsuit he will bring

When officers arrived, police said they knocked on the door for about five minutes from a "well illuminated area." It was then that police said a man came out of the garage and "took an aggressive firing stance and pointed a firearm at officers."
if bodycams confirm this he probably should be charged. What kind of dumbass confronts police with a gun, whether they were suppose to be there or not

I hope we get to see the bodycams.
He didn't shoot at the officers, I don't believe... and he was shot by the officers... I'd say whatever "punishment" he warranted at being armed in the middle of the night in his own garage has already been meted out.

He was in the garage. He had no idea who was at his door.
Cops have gotten so bad that even a red state like Indiana has expressly told citizens they can use deadly force against a cop on their property if they shouldn't be there.
