There’s a really good upscale Mexican restaurant inside the mall at one end (where a Dillard’s used to be). Forget the name.

Shut up nerd. The “McAllen” you see on fox news isn’t even McAllen. It’s Hidalgo. Hidalgo is the border town.
Art walk on fridays downtown, there’s usually a good live music scene in that area too. Pretty sure there’s a new top golf. There are nice golf courses and nature trails if you’re into that as well as food truck parks. SPI is a little over an hour away.
Food- Bodega, republic of the rio grande, santa fe, espana, ambra, kumori, delia’s, costa messa, koko’s
You can also throw a dart and hit a perfect taco truck.
And latinas everywhere.
